GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (18 Viewers)

whoa.  Entering into day 7 of flu-like symptoms.  Tested negative for "the flu" on Monday after feeling dizzy and achy Sunday.

Things just got progressively worse through the week - fever, chills, headaches, stuffed up but running nose, sinus pain ...probably the worse since I had a horrible sinus infection several years ago.  Been sleeping 18-20 hours a day and living on water, aspirin and Nyquil.

Some pretty delirious dreams but don't remember them.
Should have started a thread like the stepped on a nail guy.

Nothing like a virus to drop ten pounds in a week.

But dude that's a long time to be sick probably should go back to the doctor. Don't want to risk pneumonia or worse

GM

Chief pretty officer is an enlisted man rank. Your more white collar. I'd go with Captain of Industry and Fertilization

Of course right wing dad’s eldest is proving that the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree using the old ‘but Clinton got a blow job’ in defense of Trump’s subforu errr I mean ####hole country comment

my MIL is one of those people who clicks on any link, any pop-up, any email message... i am fairly certain she's functionally illiterate so she doesn't know what she's clicking on is malware or a virus.

her laptop was so clogged with virii that it turned in to a paperweight. albeit one my kids could at least open a sketch/drawing program on. been that way for at least a year.

essentially the internet is my MIL's only outlet to the world. without it, she just sleeps.

so my wife and brothers-in-law chipped in and bought her a top of the line, brand new laptop for Christmas. for a variety of reasons ( ) it did not get setup immediately. wife finally took care of it last weekend. got all the programs on the laptop my MIL likes, got her re-logged in to her Facebook account, etc.

last weekend

my MIL stopped by last night. 6 days later.

MIL: dat stoopid computer your wife bought for me ain't workin already!

me: eh??

MIL: da dumb ting just keeps starting over! when it comes on, i click OK on some dumb box and da ting stops working for a couple hours and den it shuts off!

me: ?? what did you click on?

MIL: i have no idea. one a doze stupid messages popped up de udder day and i clicked it cuz i didn't know what it was and it wouldn't go away!

me: you don't know what it was but you clicked on it? and ever since then it freezes for hours & then shuts down?

MIL: YAH! what is dat???

me: i have no idea. what did the pop up say?

MIL: i don't know! i just click dem things until dey go away! there are so many of dem all da time!

me: :wall:

Think I’m up to 4 times seeing them now, last time being at Red Rocks. Always stellar
Going to see Railroad Earth tomorrow. Anyone seen them? I know they are amazing musicians but not much else

Your MIL is either 92 or 3

The owner is buying shots for the regulars. Drunk Girl is hanging on me and her boyfriend is getting pissed. I'm sure this will all end well.  :oldunsure:

The boyfriend got her out of here before she did something that demanded a response. Probably best for all of us.

Was in Austin for 3 days. Stayed just south of the River off Congress.

We went out on Thursday night / company rented out Maggie Maes. Open bar. So much drunk.

There were presentations at 8am Friday. Several people presenting quite literally could not stand still. It was pretty bad.

Bar tab was like 12,000.

Thoughts on Eugene Oregon? Wife and I giving it very strong consideration for retirement. Probably 4-5 years away to retirement, but might consider buying home much sooner. Thinking downtown or maybe Whitakear (sp).

I love Eugene.   Really cool vibe and lots of good bars/restaurants

Really good for those that enjoy homeless tent cities, naked hippies crapping in the sidewalks and unending smell of weed.
