Roverkid started her sophomore year of high school at a new school today. She didn't want to go back to her old school and have to answer questions about disappearing for the second semester last year. She seems pretty happy, and actually knows more people at this school that she did at the school she went to last year.
The nutritionist and her doctor both like where she's at, and she doesn't show any warning signs of relapsing. She's on a more relaxed diet regimen, so hopefully it will work out for her now that she's back in school. She's going to start voice lessons again in a couple weeks and she's going to go to Milan and Paris for fashion week at the end of September. I don't know if she'll ever get back to volleyball. She still has concussion symptoms and a headache every day.
Today seems weird after all that happened over the last year. I had my doubts she'd ever go back to regular school. I really hope she can have a "normal" year, make some friends, go to football games and homecoming, and get to be a regular kid.

As someone who assiduously smoked pot for five years of my life and watched said five years lost to nothing productive, I can assure you you're only missing out on some sensory perception regarding your favorite musical acts, etc. Nothing big.
Hmm...then again, maybe I'll just open mouth and insert foot here.

A couple of months back one of my cousins gave my mom some edibles. Like big bar of Hershey’s with almonds...and weed.
Mom said they made her sick. I volunteered to take them off her hands.
Takes 45-60 mins but mellow AF.

She's encouraging me to take it for sleep. She and my stepfather hung out with their new neighbors tonight, and the neighbors are really into it for aches/pains and sleep. They gave my Mom some, which she emailed to say she would "share" with me to help with my sleep.
Aren't moms supposed to discourage their kids from drug use? Now I feel like I have to use it just to please my mom.
(Probably won't, though. I've gone this far in my life without trying it; why start now?)

If you have trouble sleeping, go down to your local shop and ask for a strain for sleep. They’ll almost certainly have an edible or something for that. i don't care for weed. but, i'd like to try some CBD oil for my various aches. i don't want to go ask mckenzi, down at the cbd store, what to take. any of you stoners know anything about cbd oil? or maybe your moms do?

been taking 10mg of cbd around 8:30 - 9 every night and have slept like a champ for little more than a month now.
for years i woke up often in the night with serious back pain. since taking cbd gel caps at night.. no more pain. i wake up and roll right out of bed without issue. before cbd, i could feel tight, sharp pain for hours sometimes after getting out of bed. only thing that seemed to help was taking the dog for a 30-45 minute walk to loosen up.
now i don't need that at all.
doesn't make me drowsy, or dry mouth as i've read some people have experienced. all it does is help me get a relaxed night of sleep. would recommend.

I use a 50% CBD/50% THC salve for my knees and lower back. As I understand it, you want THC for its anti-inflammatory properties. The one I use is called Salvation. I partially tore my MCL and medial meniscus a few years ago. If I do too much on that knee, it gets very sore. The salve gives me a significant amount of relief.

I'm in Washington. We have as many weed stores as we do Starbucks. I could buy some and mail it to you, although it's technically illegal.

Yeah, they probably won't have the same brand, but this stuff is 150 mg CBD/150 mg THC. Most stores carry a bunch of creams, salves and balms in sample sizes and larger sizes. I'd buy a few sample sizes and see which one works best for you, then go back and get the large size of that one. The samples will run you $10 or so. The full size is usually around $50-60, so you don't want to get stuck with one you don't like.there are plenty all around me. just have to drive to the bad part of town.
Some of them use a bunch of menthol to make it seem like it's doing something, but then you may as well just use ben gay. I don't like the smell and it doesn't do anything for deep knee pain. I'd stay away from those.

A lot of the discomfort etc over the last month or so seemed to be related to recovering from radiation. She’s eating more and sleeping better.
Still just a waiting game but she’s a lot more comfortable.

Went down to UCLA today for consult with my surgeon. Basically explained what he was going to do.
Most likely I’ll spend 3 days in the hospital and then another week of recovery. I don’t have a date yet because I have to consult with a plastic surgeon as well (Tuesday). I’m really hoping I can schedule all of it during parent-teacher conferences.
ETA My favorite part was when the doc apologized for having me come down in person instead of explaining everything over the phone and also for having to come back and talk to the plastic surgeon.
I said “Are you kidding? I’m just thankful I have such great insurance I can see a guy like you at UCLA. A two hour drive is nothing. Hell, that’s what Bakersfield is famous for...it's two hours from all kinds of great stuff.”

Benign tumors on/near my parotid gland....for starters. That’s the lump between your ear and cheekbone.
I have another smaller one on the other side but down by my jaw. That’s for later on. But the key is that everything is benign.

Thanks. All things considered it’s not a huge deal. My older brother is having prostate surgery next week and my mom probably has a few months left thanks to stage 4. I consider myself lucky.
But is still weird. I told my wife “I’ve never spent one night in a hospital unless you count when I was 4 and had my tonsils out.”

i'm certainly not the expert but so far these PLUS CBD Oil gel capsules have worked for me
i believe @urbanhack has some insight on what to look for, why, etc.
