Visited third hospital of the week tonight as ex's husband was readmitted. Kind of interesting the five of us all hanging out in the Emergency Room.

I've taken the kids back to their house, put them in bed, and waiting for ex to get home do I can leave.

It really hit my ex today that she doesn't have family or friends that will bail her out like I do. So that's something.

Glad you're stepping up for her. I don't know the back story but that's what people are supposed to do, and your kids are watching and will see how you handle this.

Sorry GB. Keep being there for the kids.

Wife and my mom are out for drinks and dinner in hopes that peace can be reached before Xmas and beyond. Cautiously optimistic as they say. Just me and Hazel tonight. Pretty sweet of the NFL to quit Thurs night games. I'd take J'ville vs Houston over another episode of Umi Zoomi.

But fun holding and playing with my little daughter after 10 days apart. She's grown and changed a little while gone. Cuter. Funnier. More personality. Forget how awesome it is at times when they are this age. They grow up fast. So fast.
Too fast, IMO. :kicksrock:

Bob, there's a lot more to it than this. If I understand you correctly you're negotiating with the business guy directly, with no attorneys directly involved, right?

If so don't just give him a number. Keep him talking about the fact that this premature cancellation of the contract is going to be a hit for your business too. I would also emphasize to him - gently at this point - that even that 30% number isn't going to make you whole (if indeed that's that case - if that's a great number for you then skip that).

Also, it may be that he wants to settle this before the New Year for tax purposes, so you might want to follow up before Monday, maybe tomorrow? Just a thought. The midweek Christmas and New Years holidays are going to make doing business the last 10 days kinda tough.
No this is attorney on attorney action and we certainly have made clear how this has affected our business and contracts with our suppliers.

You have a good point with the Holidays. I'll tomorrow. Thanks GB.
wow

so laww

such business
:lmao: Doge is so stupid, but cracks me up.

Last Sunday, the new husband and my daughter both woke up early to find the backdoor open and one of their three cats missing. The cat was 15 years old, and the new husband's favorite. For a mostly emotionless guy, it really broke him up. He was devastated. The kids put posters up around the neighborhood and scoured the streets for a couple of days, but to no avail. Cat de-clawed, never outside, it was toast.

So fast forward to last night, I'm still at the house, kids asleep, I have the front door open and screen shut waiting for the ex. The cat just shows up on the front porch like he ran an errand or something. It makes me chase him around the house, but finally gives up and I get him inside. Ex comes home, exhausted, and I mention, "Hey, I did something while you were gone." She gives me this WTF look like she didn't have time for my shenanigans, I point to the cat and she breaks down in my arms she is so happy.

I left with my "Greatest Ex-Husband My Ex Ever Had" trophy held high.

Effing cats.

Want to know what the biggest scam out there is? Mall portrait studios.

Now, before you start in with a :ptts: , please know that I am wholly against taking my child for these types of sittings (no offense to those of you who like doing this). My MIL takes my nephew once a month (and takes full advantage of the backdrops and props) and when my daughter was born, she gave us a gift card to JC Penney Portrait Studio. I've fought it until now, but I want to give both sets of grandparents a framed "professional" photo of her for Christmas, so yesterday I had Romo take her in to get some photos taken. Told him to inquire about getting a CD with the photos so that I could possibly get a Christmas card out.

He called and said that she did really well, and that they got something like 50 really great pictures of her. And, for them to put those pictures on a CD, it would be $150.00 $150.00. My blood just boiled - they took the pictures with a digital camera so it's as simple as drag and drop, no? Okay, I know it's not that simple, but still. Their next lowest package was something like picking out our 3 favorite pictures and getting those on a CD along with a couple of 8x10s and 5x7s - for the bargain price of $79.99.

Anyway, I did some Googling and found a $25 Groupon that got me the sitting fee ($9 per person), the two photo sheets (the 5 x 7s will take care of the framed grandparent photos) and our three favorite photos on CD. And, I have access to all of the photos via their online portal so I'm just going to print screen/crop all the photos. :boxing:

Just such a racket. I could have hired a friend to come to our house for $50 but I thought surely going through JC Penney I would be saving $$$.

Now that I think about it, I pulled an SLB and forgot to put a note in my SS gift saying who it is. I also forgot to add this about a donation in his name. Sorry GB.
I never put a note in stuff I send to FBGs. What are we, a sewing circle?
I'll verify Thorn sent no note in my SS last year. I was kinda hurt that it took the emotion out of it. I mean I did appreciate all the cash and fancy electronic equipment. I assume he'll send the same to whoever he gets this year.

Secret Santa Question - do I reveal my identity in the box of goodies or wait until the person posts in the thread?
I like to just a put a "I love you" note in there and usually some ****-wart medication. It makes the person try to figure out which of one the 80% of sexually active males in the GMTAN sent it to them.

I don't think that is going to work as well as you anticipate.

They don't charge $150.00 to give you a CD with the pictures because it's time consuming or that the CD's are expensive, simply they understand that most people have access to a fairly decent color picture printer, and by giving you the CD, you can print as many pictures as you'd like.

And I agree that portrait pictures are a huge scam.

Freelance photographers aren't that much better of a bargain either.

Wife worked at JC Penny portraits for about 3-4 weeks. Should could write a Guster sized novel about the horror and misery that job provided her. And lest you think Wal-Mart has a monopoly on mutants populating their stores, brother...think again.

No, wait until the kid gets older. Sports team pictures are the biggest racket.

Oh, you want a team picture and a couple pictures of your kid holding a soccer ball? That's 35 bucks please.

For only 8 bucks, we'll add a refrigerator magnet.

Oh, and we'll see you during your Spring season, too.

Mrs. SLB did this with Cal. She had a coupon or something for $40. She did it again at 1 and I just copied all of the pics of their website. Thankfully that was the last time she did this. I think the whole "new mother" thing has completely worn off by then and she hated our guts.

Thorn hooked me up with some beers to give Chicago Girl for Christmas, no note

Are you going to be able to drive down to Cambridge for cocktails over the holidays?
Which day is this exactly? The 26th or 27th? I think you said something about the wedding you're going to being on Saturday, but I also think you said it was 27th which is Friday. I also think you mentioned it's some kind "girls gone wild"/swinger wedding? Is that true? And if it is true perhaps we could have triple threat wedding crashers GustThornZooks attend?

Pretty good chance I'll be able to make it. I'm trying to make plans with college buddies too and the 26th was one of the possible dates but I think the 28th or 29th is more likely right now

My SS gift won't arrive to the recipient until 12/27. I think it's a nice assortment of items though. If that is a problem for anyone then eat a d ick

Mine will arrive sometime during the holiday season. (I assume, since I haven't sent it yet.)
Luckily for you Kwanzaa ends Jan 1
Chinese New Year is like in February, right?
Valentines Day is the Office end to the Holiday season. Unless you are Bogart - in that case:

IF ("Christmas Tree In Living Room" = True) THEN ("IT'S THE HOLIDAY SEASON); ELSE ("IT MUST BE AUGUST")
Why do you hate the Irish?

Last day before Xmas break. Kids get out an hour early. Schedule is convoluted...8th period is 5th period, 4th period is 6th period...etc.

It's not even 1st period and these kids have totally lost their ####.

I think I'm going to start drinking on my prep which is 2nd period...which is actually 2nd period.
