GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

My friend bought a double-decker bus to convert to a tailgating/party bus. He flew a guy with a commercial license down to richmond, ca to drive it back. The guy managed to hit a guardrail, rip up the side and tear out some fuel lines before he even left the facility. They put it back together and were going to drive it up here and fix it at his company's body shop.

Bus breaks down in Eugene, Or. It's by the side of the road when a logging truck driving past lost its load and overturned, totalling the bus.

Some things just aren't meant to be.

That bus looks like it was badass.

My kid will be here next Wednesday. I had today in the pool though, so I have a little over an hour to scare my wife in to going in to labor. Right?

he had grand plans. he was going to wrap it with seahawks colors/logo, rip out most of the seats and set it up for a DJ, and put in a bathroom, bar and stripper pole down below.

one more serious question please.......

i have given up its time to get my eyes checked.

should i go to an actual eye doctor or are the guys in the costco, vison center type places good?
Those guys are regular eye doctors just like any other, they just happen to have an office inside a Costco.

I just scheduled my first eye exam in 15 years. It's going to take a month and a half to get in to see an ophthalmologist.

The costco guys are optometrists. If you need glasses, cool. If you want to get checked for glaucoma, not so much.

So I watched the third episode of Twin Peaks this weekend. Probably the weirdest 40 minutes of network TV I have ever experienced. A creepy ### dream sequence that had a midget vibrating, then speaking in such a weird voice that they actually put subtitles on the screen, followed by him doing some goofy solo slow dance to some creepy music. And, of course, more uncontrollable shrieking by Laura's mom.

Is this what this show is? Does it just stay weird and nonsensical or is there actually some character development and a real story to tell? I've heard so many great things about it that I'm loathe to bail but wow this is some messed up stuff.

Also saw the first episode of Freaks and Geeks. Netflix rocks.
If you don't like it already, I'd give it up. Although that dream sequence is near the pinnacle of weirdness, there's still plenty more in the series. Not much character development. Some of the characters are actually outright horribly written, but it's a small price to pay.

Bull####. Optometrists can check for glaucoma.

Sorry to touch a nerve.

Let me clarify my statement for bell, who needs his vision examined. The optometrists working in Costco are no different than the optometrists working anywhere else.

This seems like a perfect opportunity for a doge meme.

I just didn't know that. I figured optometrists were for checking vision and such, and that people went to MD's when they were getting checked out for things that could potentially blind them.

My mom recently lost her vision to undiagnosed glaucoma; because it's got a hereditary component, I need to go get checked. I never considered doing it at costco.

No go on House #1. Someone else must have wanted it more. We put in an offer up to $10K over asking price, all-cash, short inspection period, allowing seller to stay for a week or two rent-free after closing (which they needed), significant earnest money. I was comfortable with the price we offered, which was about $20-25K more than comps might have suggested, so what can you do.

My god, how did you not get it? That's amazing.

Who you guys in on? #gohawks
Where things stand now, I think SEA +3 (only at Bovada right now) is the best available bet. The public's on Denver pretty heavily, and it's not moving the line to +3.

I'm also considering an over bet if the total drops any further, as the public tends to overreact to bad weather.

I'm also following FFAWT'er swirvinirvin on his player props, and I have a ####-ton of my own plays on cross-sport props, e.g. Snedeker's 4th round score in Dubai vs. Wes Welker rec. yards +21, #### like that.

I was definitely surprised. Our realtor had no info, but I noticed the house went to "pending" and not "pending inspection", so I wonder if the winner offered to forgo an inspection. That should only matter if the seller knows of something (the disclosures were clean) or is just very skittish, but maybe was a deciding factor? I'll be interested to see what the sale price turns out to be.

####, sorry about your mom. I was just shticking. Really sorry.

Austin is iced over again. Most places preemptively decided on a two-hour delay last night, but conditions got a lot worse this morning, with 80 wrecks since 5 AM. I don't think I'm going to work at 10, either. As always, TPW for our thin, wimpy blood are appreciated.
