I took my dog to the vet today because I don't have anything else to do and Mrs. SLB couldn't do it yesterday because she was working. I'm just kidding, she wasn't working. It sort of worked out though because the vet buys stuff from me and I had a Christmas present for him. Everybody is happy to see a sales person, with food. I weighed the dog, 52 pounds, and they directed me to room 4. It was his actual nail that was all busted up and still pretty sore. Dr. Jones said he didn't think it was too big of a deal but needed to take the dog in the back room, trim it up and shave it back or else it could get infected. Cool. So he and the dog leave and I proceed to check my e-mails. They return 10 minutes later and Dr. Jones says "everything was going well but he must have been pretty scared because he pooped and peed all over me. I mean poop was shooting out of his butt like a fountain!". FML

Then I had an appointment with another doctor, a specialist, about the problem I've been having in my chest since June. I don't think I've posted much but I had a CT scan, an upper scope and a colonoscopy and all looked good. It took Mrs. SLB to diagnose it as a hernia caused by scar tissue when I had my gall bladder removed years ago. I didn't tell the doctor my wife's diagnosis (she knows him *gulp*, *gulp*) but he checked me out and put his hand right where I've been having pain. Yep I have an umbilical port hernia. At least I hope that's all it is. Then the doctor asked where I had my gall bladder removed because " the incision is 3x as long as it should be and vertical instead of horizontal. The surgeon must have been drunk when he performed it". I'm having surgery on 12/29 to repair it. FML

Ordered 2 Edwardo's deep dish pizzas (frozen) to have for New Year's Eve as part of a very old tradition. There is no good deep dish in Tampa. There were a couple of Giordano's, but they are long gone (not saying they are great). I am really looking forward to getting them in a couple of days. I can't believe I never did this before.

ETA: Ironically when I go to Milwaukee, my in-laws are afraid to venture out to Wauwatosa so I never get to the only Edwardo's left there. Crazy.

Thanks GB. The pain has gotten progressively worse since June. I just hope that a/the hernia is the problem. I've had a ton of stress, serious life changing stress, in my life this year that I haven't posted here, mostly because I don't want to be seen as fishing for sympathy.

I found myself in my office at work at 9pm yesterday grinding away another day with a lump in my throat like I might just lose it. So thanks. I'm going to pop some pills now.

Our **** made it abundantly clear that the $198 or whatever it was was for one fireplace only.
