GM's thread about nothing (31 Viewers)

Though I have yet to break the news to my wife and though I may not have a job at the end of this year and though my finances are in horrendous shape and though I probably should stay home, I will more than likely be at CosjobsUHole 2013. I'll just find a way to make it work. On top of wanting to hang out with all you fine folks and in addition to wanting to give my support to UH in whatever direction he chooses to take with this hideous cancer, I have some more reasons to get down to Texas soon. One of my dear friends from high school is battling brain tumors and hasn't been given a very good prognosis. In fact, it's very grim and he's not going to be around much longer. So I might stop in Dallas first to visit with him before coming down to Austin for the party and the fun.
Sorry, bro.

This is the latest Facebook political post making the rounds with my acquaintances. I'm not voting for either of these two jerks, but it's hard not to respond when something is so blatantly wrong.Beneath a photo of Obama holding a copy of "The Post-American World by Fareed Zakaria

THIS PHOTO SHOULD STUN AND SADDEN ALL AMERICANS! tHE BOOK HE IS HOLDING IS CALLED THE POST- AMERICAN WORLD...WRITTEN BY A MUSLIM, FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW POST MEANS THE WORLD AFTER AMERICA AS WE NOW KNOW IT!!!!! PLEASE SHARE THE HELL OUT OF THIS!!!!
Quick book summary
The Post-American World is a non-fiction book by Indian American journalist Fareed Zakaria. It was published in hardcover and audiobook formats in early May 2008 and became available in paperback in early May 2009; the Updated and Expanded Release 2.0 followed in 2011. In the book, Zakaria argues that, thanks to the actions of the United States in spreading liberal democracy across the world, other countries are now competing with the US in terms of economic, industrial, and cultural power. While the US continues to dominate in terms of political-military power, other countries such as China and India are becoming global players in many fields.

It's always the worst when you're left out of these updates. I was already starting to get pissed off about it 3/4 of the way through, but then he basically said I'm fat and I felt... relieved.
I guess I just got lucky then.
I figured if Shuke missed your posts he just doesn't care anymore. Those stood alone. I don't even know how to summarize them.
WHAT DID I MISS?!
SLB went on a weekend long bender where he got hit on more than a sparring partner for Floyd Mayweather. For a guy that looks like the ******* son of Trent Dilfer and a dying Darth Vader, I don't quite get the panty pudding he creates with females far and wide, but he do. Probably the gold chain. Going to go buy one. BRB.

 I feel like a real schmuck this year. Oregon voters get a ballot in the mail that we can fill out and mail back at our leisure. It's quite nice. There's even drop boxes around town if we don't want to buy a stamp. Because I moved this summer, I never went through the steps to update my address with the voting registrar. I kept meaning to do it, but I just dropped the ball. So I'm not voting this year. I feel so...un-patriotic? Pretty mad at myself. But, it has kept me out of the political threads and has stopped me from arguing politics and that has been kinda nice I guess. I still suck.

Well, regardless, you should be able to laugh at the fact that the original poster felt the need to define the word "post" for anyone too stupid to understand what it means.

Man, I feel like there just isn't enough time in the day, so damn busy. Just got back from London. I think the amount of time I spent there equaled my travel time. Our dryer died last night, and I don't even have time to try to diagnose and fix it. So I said #### it, call a dude to come over and fix it. That was pretty stupid, since I was pretty sure it was the motor, and the thing is 7 years old. Why didn't I just decide to buy a new one. Now I'm out the $80 for the service call only for the guy to tell me what I should have deducted on my own.

I honestly can't wait to have surgery next week, so I can lay around for a few days on drugs and do nothing.

The stache is coming around, though. I'm sure you guys are donating to the GMTAN group, but if anyone wants to throw me a bone (you can paypal a dollar), go here.

I really need to keep Brees & Hartley in check tonight. So far, so good. Rooting for you too Frosty.
<_<
You guys you guys you guys. They're making a spin-off of Boy Meets World about Cory and Topanga's daughter called, get this, Girl Meets World. I am so excited. No this is not sarcasm. I am pumped. The only thing better would be a Saved by the Bell spin-off about Zack and Kelly's kid, but I think this actually has a chance to be good.omg, imo

I guess none of you happened to see my FB post yesterday? Anyhow, I just had a GB text me that he just voted and wrote in my FB name for Lincoln County coroner on the ballot. :lmao:

GL with the surgery GB.

Panicked and voted for GATES.
:lmao:I'm going to clean up around here betting all these whacked-out conservative Tennesseans. It all started when I realized that one of my colleagues was perfectly serious this morning when he said that Romney was going to win, and I told him that was "just precious" (I've learned the lingo down here). He bet me on the spot.

 Doing the same in Tejas... :banned: (Disclaimer: I don't care about politics, just making money)

BTW The Eagles complete inability to do anything right cost me the pick 'em pool here at work. All they needed to do was score ANYTHING at the end of the game yet they crapped the bed.

Suckers kept me from winning $22.

100% serious here. Voting in the country was weird. In St. Louis County, you had to go through three layers of checks to make sure you were who you said you were. Then they always had either punch machines or digital/computer voting booths. Write in votes weren't even an option. Out in the country, a drivers license was all you needed and the only option was to fill in a Scantron type ballot. So a write ballot shtick was a no brainer.

You do know you can join two teams, right? It's a little bit of a pain, but you just need to sign up again with a different email address. For example, I'm on the GMTAN team and a WORK team. It's kinda lonely with just me and TRE right now, just sayin'
