GM's thread about nothing (35 Viewers)

Looks like I'm officially FBG Cornholing with Steve Tasker this year at Bonnaroo. :banned: We're planning to meet either in Memphis or Nashville then camp out for 4 days straight drinking heavily with thousands of dirty hippies on a farm in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe icon will bring his jeep out and see you guys.

Question for the Fantasy baseball nerds:Been in a league with mostly buddies from work for about 5 years, usually end up replacing a couple owners each year. This was never a keeper league. Commish just sent out an email basically saying that he figured out how to set up our league as a keeper league so we can keep 2 from our roster from last year and the new owners this year (2 maybe 3 guys) will get to pick first in the draft since they won't have any keepers. I've never done a keeper league in baseball or football before. Am I wrong for thinking this is dumb since we're deciding now to use keepers from last year? I would think if we knew we could keep players last year then that would've changed our strategy last year? Seems like the proper thing to do would be to start keeping players in 2014 from our 2013 teams. I love you

Where's COlin or Rude? I think one of them should lock the "do you think this thread can get to 560 posts?" thread at 559 posts.
You missed my post in that thread, I see.
My husband just rolled in from a poker game he went to at 9:00 last night. Probably going to be a pretty productive Saturday.
Challenge him to something. "I bet you can't rake all the leaves in the yard in under two hours....I bet you can't cook a ribeye medium well for me...I bet you can't rub my feet for thirty minutes without stopping..."
 Great minds think alike. I hadn't even read the thread when I posted that. And good advice to YSR. On the extremely unlikely chance Romo lost at poker, he's gonna want to win at SOMETHING.
Oh, he won. So, I got the "just think of it as my coming home from working a night job". Oh, ok.
Sounds like wedded bliss!
Thanks, as always, Pickles.

What kind of money did Romo pull down last night? This is all getting reported to the IRS, RIGHT!?!?!?
Came back over $500 in winnings (including his KKKK winning ~$100 for high hand of the night). All in play money, of course.
I might go play tonight. I have an entire night to myself, it might be debauch-time.Is this 2/5 NL? 1/2?
NL 1/2 He actually hit quads (Ks, Js) in two hands, but he played super tight (first time at this game) and he actually did kind of treat it like a job (his words). His feeling is that there is more to be made at that game, especially since the host has open bar, etc, and he's not one for excessive booze and coke.
That sounds awesome.
Jerry Buss last words "I can't believe I'm dying and Magic Johnson is fine"

GMTAN Home Ec class

I was posting this because I thought Michael Cera's character and his Asian partner reminded me of GM and Hock Meng Tay. But after watching it again, Jonah Hill kinda reminds me of Shuke too. And as a bonus for Frosty, Emma Stone is in it too.

Thank you. Apparently I'm of one of the few dissenting votes in the league.

We actually went through something like this in my baseball league 5 or so years ago. The idea was floated in the middle of one season and we decided that was the direction we would head. The next season was still played under the existing rule with the knowledge that the following season we would be allowing keepers. You need to have at least one draft and season before switching because it has such a major impact on strategy

I went in 2006 with my ex-boyfriend and step-cousin (two different people). Had a great time, but it is definitely disgusting and smelly. We had an RV, which helped a bit until the toilet stopped working. :scared:Bill, you know you're welcome at Camila any time it's not already rented. Go for it.

IMPORTANT CAT UPDATE!!!!!!!!!111111111ONEONEONEONE

Went to find out if we had (1) zero, (2) one, or (3) two cats dying tonight. Turns out the vet on call was not the bald, bearded and bespectacled, kindly Dr. Williams, but the I'm-not-kidding-she's-tweaking Dr. Such-and-Such (didn't catch it). So I have no idea if the cats are dying, or I am, or exactly what's going on, but got to take the young fuzzy one home and left the old one for another night in the hospital, though the young fuzzy one might have to go back tomorrow or go to "some university teaching hospital" like the tweaker said. Also the young fuzzy one might have something in his kidneys that we could have seen if the tweaker could figure out how to put the x-rays up, turn off the room lights, and point out whatever she was pointing out, without losing her train of thought 1862 times.

Need a new vet.
sucks
:goodposting: Hope it all works out for your disgusting, self-centered, destructive balls of fur.

We lost one last year to a kidney infection and blood sepsis. I still tear up when I think about poor George.
:( Sorry for your loss. The older one is definitely what you describe--super-cranky and demanding and all-the-more-charming for it. The younger one is the sweetest creature I've ever come across in my life. It's incredibly sad, but this is what we sign up for when taking in little creatures with much shorter life spans (though two years seems a bit ridiculous). He's the one that jumped in my car about two years ago. Yes, just jumped in my car.
Thank you.So funny how some cats choose us. My folks have one that found them in a parking garage and just hopped in my dad's car, much like yours. They're BFFs.

One of my wife's best friends revealed this morning - via text - that she is pregnant with her boyfriend (3 years) baby and has moved in with him in north San Antonio. ...leaving behind her husband of 13 years and two adopted kids in Houston.
Tell her to start a thread in the FFA
Lucky *******. (The husband, not the boyfriend).
This. The chick is perhaps the most vain, narcissistic, annoying person I have ever met. She was walked all over the husband for years. He is a nice guy but thinks he will die alone if she leaves. Chick is not attractive. Has a nice body for a 30 year old but an ugly-stick face and awful personality. She started cheating on him 4 years ago, brought home an std 18 months ago (from a different guy) and has been carrying on with the baby daddy for 3 years. They had a "wedding vow renewal" ceremony last summer which was basically a celebration of the girl as a wife (cheating and whoring part left out) that was the most uncomfortable event I've ever attended. So, good for the husband that he doesn't have to deal with her #### anymore.

One time we were at their house and the husband and I went to the Houston car show. I had to buy him lunch because the wife had not budgeted in lunch "away from home" for him during our visit. (I didn't mind). Come to find out while we are at the car show, she hauled my wife all over town looking for a new camera so she could take better pictures of herself to post on MySpace. (Just wait til I start drinking in a minute. The stories will get a lot better).

Should be a keeper league next year not this year. Everyone would have probably did things differently last year if it was a keeper league this year.My league is doing the same thing, only he is starting it next year like it should be.I love you too

Well she does live in Tennessee.

I am at a Boy Scout thing until 8. Pray for me.
My daughter said she still doesn't want to go to the dance, so her mom is getting her in a few. My friend's birthday party starts at 8, so I figure a 9p arrival is best. Should probably start drinking soon :banned:

speaking GMTANholes, we could do a VRBO and just rent a house somewhere over the summer.someone mentioned summerfest in Milwaukee or that Wisconsin beernerd fest in Madison as options.dunno if anyone wants to organize, but could be a good time.
That would be pretty awesome

Came back to my room and the housekeeper made some towel origami dog/pig thing. Seen it done before, but this time my glasses were placed on its face. Kind of feel vioated here.

Multiple affairs. Husband knew about all of them. She would leave for three months to "find herself" and get railed by a college kid from tgi Fridays and he would stay home taking care of the kids. She'd come back, they'd go to counseling or have the vow renewal and the cycle would start again. I told my wife when she brought home HPV and he took her back that there was only one straw left to put on the camel's back. So she starts announcing she is pregnant right before Christmas. Friends and family think "wow, they might make it together!" Around mid January she comes clean to him that it might not be his. Has a DNA test, it's not the husbands. And here we are.

Sounds like a real peach

I'll say it again: wow.
She's also weirdly obsessed with the Twilight movies. Not the books, mind you, but the movies. She thinks they are the most romantic thing of all time and doesn't understand how anyone could disagree. How obsessed? For summer vacation the year after the first movie came out, she loaded the husband and adopted kids in to the car and drove from Houston to Washington to see "where the movie was made."

Has this woman ever undergone evaluation? She sounds certifiable. Actually, do does the husband, but for completely different reasons.

Also, it goes without saying, but I bet she's a wild buffalo in the sack. Actually, now I get why the husband never left....

I've never been able to comprehend a guy allowing himself to be a cuckold. I'd rather be homeless than that. BTW, why did they adopt? Is he shooting blanks (she was apparently not the problem)?

I agree on the lucky part, but no, he doesn't realize it (yet). If he did, he wouldn't have let things reach this point. He's gonna need support from his guy friends, and after a while to stop his head from spinning, he's going to need to get laid by a few different broads to feel like a man again(?).

About a year and a half ago she was in counseling. She even talked to me and my wife prett candidly one night about how she knew a lot of her behavior and aelfishness were causing ruin with her family. Her husband had provided a nice life for her and adored her and even though she knew these things, she couldn't make herself feel close to him and the kids and all she thought about was doing what she wanted to do without them. My wife even told her (at my urging) that if her life wasn't happy then get out of it, but don't hurt others on the way. She obviously didn't listen. I'm sorry for her and her husband that this has happened. But part of me thinks she deserves it, which makes me an evil person I guess. She clearly understood what she was doing and knew she would always be taken back even though friends and family were all  at her behavior over and over. She acted like she didn't care about those people's opinions because - remember - she only cares about herself.

Abraham> how did your wife meet this girl? Crazy college roommate?
And also, what on earth does she offer as a friend to your wife, aside from morbid entertainment that is?
I have asked the same thing for years and get the same answer each time. "She was different when we were younger. She was kind and sweet but married the first guy who told her she was pretty. All of her friends but me have long since abandoned her because she is so selfish and I'm afraid if I turn my back on her too then something bad might happen." I'm just in it for the laughs at this point.
