GM's thread about nothing (31 Viewers)

And while I'm doing board laundry in here, was the most disturbing moment in FFA history when PKev pretended to have children?
I thought it was he started teaching children.
That would be enough, wouldn't it?

No, he got pretty worked up when I called him on his overzealous posting in a thread about babies sleeping in their parents' bed. I found it odd that he had all of these closely held opinions on this topic when he didn't have any kids. So in a moment of internet brilliance, he invented some. I called BS, he doubled down.

I think I walked into that guys' head and set up headquarters a few years back. I didn't really mean to, but he kind of demanded it.

I guess in retrospect he was merely fighting for his imaginary kids' honor.
Sounds like a pretty solid imaginary Dad then.

He really cares about his imaginary kids.

Just imagine their imaginary fun on Father's Day.

Thanks again for the time and photos fellas. This work will be up in Houston in early February.
Very cool. If you wouldn't mind sharing the when and the where, I'd love to go check it out.
It is east,, outside the loop, inside the beltway.

Never actually read the anyway thread, but the thought of zilla selling amway makes me chuckle, so I might read it.

Speaking of music lovers, what ever happened to TU? I see an occasional FB post every now and then, but nothing in the FFA?

I'll be there. Once I find out where it is

Both my GB and I got companion passes for Southwest, so we're looking to take our wives on a few couples trips (the 4 of us) next year for quick 2-3 day trips. Looks like we're definitely going to do Boston in the summer and we're narrowing down another one to either Nashville or Vegas.

I know enough about Vegas, but don't know anything about Nashville. We're eaters, drinkers, and like to enjoy a good night out; which I'm sure we can have in both places. Definitely want the trip to be "easy" (i.e. cab from airport and just go with the flow from there...no rental cars, easy public transport/cabs, etc.)

We love music, but none of us are country fans....so I realize I'm stereotyping here...but it is the country music capital of the world.....AMIRITE?

I wish they would both become regulars in here. Upper tier imo

TU doesn't post much anymore (still lurks), but did spend T-giving with Koya (according to the Facebook pics).

it might have been due to the company I had, but Nashville is a great town.

And while its the country music capitol, we had no problem finding other types of music to enjoy.

had no problem with cabs, but colleges were still on winter break when we were there.

Also were involved in a rickshaw race, so plenty of those available too

Has anyone confirmed that Bentley actually drinks? I think we need to question everything. Plus, he's like 125 pounds at sea level.
Alcoholism and anorexia confirmed.

Tipped the actual scales at 171 this morning. It's not my fault that the rest of society has let itself go.

Taking Angrywife to Vegas in January. It will be our first out of town trip together since JR was born.

Deep dish pizza is pretty much those most delicious thing on the planet.

Cheese on the bottom and a very heavy sauce with lots of tomato paste. Thin crust pizza is for women.
I love all pizza-related items. I'd eat some Totino's pizza rolls out of the ### of a dead goat. Original from Italy, deep dish, Focaccia, thick crusts, squares, frozen, pockets, calzones, thin crust, white pizza, cheese steak pizza, stromboli, bowling alley pizza, and giant slice.

I lived in the birthplace of pizza for three years so I'd pick the original if I had a choice, but luckily I can just sit back and hopefully I'll die someday of pizza toxicity.
I love you.

I had my bid accepted on buying a new house today. The five figure escrow on selling my place goes hard at midnight.

The company buying my place has been harsh negotiators but i drew a line in the sand when their escrow originally ended and seemed to balance the power a little bit. But at least some of their aquisition team are bottom feeders who usually target foreclosures.

Their first appraisal (a bs unqualified residential appraiser) brought in a number 30% under our agreed upon price and used a CA contractor friend to estimate prices for curing problems from the inspector report (at least 50% higher than local prices, not to mention the typical inspection report contained tons of crap that was bs, like saying we needed a new upstairs HVAC when he did not know how to turn it on and is under warranty). Before they could even write up and offer a ridiculous number. I sent over a final offer reducing our agreed price by 2% and details on how and why the appraisal was invalid.

First they wanted me to extend the option period and pay for a second appraisal. My response was #### you, if you want another appraisal, you pay for it and pay me a nonrefundable 5k fee for the extension. They yelled and screamed but they did it.

Now the new appraisal has arrived. I have not seen it but their agent advised us that it is 18% under agreed price. Our deal has no contingencies dependent on appraised value.

The buyers want to open a drug/alcohol rehab. If they did not use a contractor and were able to acquire this much land this close to city center (which is pretty much impossible) they could build a new AO for that price.

But it would also take a minimum of 18 months. At my place, they could be operational in a month.

They are going to call sometime today and say wah wah wah how can you charge us 18% more than its worth. My response is how much more is it worth to be generating revenue for an extra 18 months while you built a new one.

Id really appreciate input / advice / negotiation tips from any real estate sharks, attorneys, or drunks in here

Nashville is a great town

Depending on what you want to pay for a hotel you can stay within walking distance from all the bars (would need cab from airport to hotel). Note: talking about the Broadway area near predators arena

Every bar has some live music going on, so if you don't like what's playing you can just walk next door. It certainly country heavy, but you'll get some rock/pop influences as well

Highly reccomend for a nice low key weekend

That said I love me some Vegas, but if you're looking for something different I'd give it a shot

The best negotiating advice anyone can give you is what you've already done for yourself. Establish that you're willing to walk away from the table. If you will, and they won't, and your demands are reasonable, you win.
