Going to a training camp session worth it? (1 Viewer)

Thinking of going to the joint Cowboys/Raiders session on Wednesday morning (they are also doing a session Tuesday afternoon that I think will be a lot more crowded with people getting off early for work - trying to avoid that one).

Is this a worthwhile experience? Cowboys have had camp 15 minutes from my house for a decade and I've never gone. Figure I should before they leave. Thoughts?

It's cool enough. Went to the packers last year and went to the badgers yesterday. It's not going to help you scout anything, but it is interesting to see how the entire practice works.

Depends on what you mean when you say "worth it". I go to a lot of Denver ones, and it's fun if you go with a friend or two, and you can discuss who looks good and who doesn't.

If you are looking at scouting players, it's only worth it if you get lucky and you have a spot where you can see the drills you want to see. For example, I was literally about 10 yards from the WR footwork drills one time, and could really tell who had good footwork and who didn't, who exploded out of cuts, etc.

Either way, I'd go with a friend who loves football as well. I had a buddy cancel on me at the last minute one time and I went ahead anyway. I noticed it was hot as hell and my ### hurt from sitting on the ground a lot sooner when alone. :(

Oh, just wanted to add - it's a great place if you're an autograph hound. Even if you're not, if you know someone who'd like an autographed jersey, bring one along and you've got a great change of getting it signed and having a gift for them later.
