Gordon To Miami? (1 Viewer)

I would caution buyer beware here. Gordon in MIA still would not help their O-Line. Gordon has not proven to me that he is a specil RB. A great RB can make an impact on a team with a mediocre running game but I don't think Lamar will suddenly save the Dolphins running game. If he goes to MIA he should get more carries than in STL and thus he has value. I would think he could be a decent RB3 at best, maybe a RB4.

If you had the opportunity to put money on whether or not Gordon goes to Miami and does good or bad as well...what would you put it onHow much and what would you bet on--him doing bad or good?
I would put the house and then some on him sucking more than Hurricane Frances. He's a different type of back than Trung Canidate, but it's going to be the same result.....3 yards per carry.
Trung candidate had lots of problems last year, but YPC was not one of them
Code:
Year TM | G | Att Yards Y/A TD | Rec Yards Y/R TD 2003 was | 11 | 142 600 4.2 1 | 10 71 7.1 1

Hello all,I was listening to my local radio station on the way into work and the sports flash reported that the deal was agreed upon, with Miami giving up a third round pick for Gordon.I think that this is a done deal. As far as the debate between Morris and Gordon, I was a Morris fan when he was in Buffalo but he was always injured and never did anything to separate himself as a guy that should carry the ball. When Henry went down last year they tried everyone but Morris as his replacement.Gordon would be an upgrade over both Minor and Morris. Miami would not give up a 3rd for someone that they were not planning on using.

Thanks to Ricky and Correll, my dynasty league was left to Fred Taylor and Chris Brown as the ONLY starters...picked up Gordon immediately (got rid of 2nd defense - Pats have a week 3 bye)...don't care if he is a stud, just needed a starter...since Brown and Taylor have the same bye week. Thanks for the scoop FBguys!!

I just picked him up in a 16-team league in which you're only allowed to carry 4 RBs. So obviously anyone with a pulse carries some value. Also picked up Morris last week, so hopefully I've got the Miami mess covered.

LMAO at people getting excited about Gordon in Miami.Gordon will be beat to a bloody pulp inside of 6 games running in Wanny's offensive offense behind that offensive offensive line. Pounding it up inside the woeful tackles and gueards play after play as is Wanny's wont helped Ricky along the road to retirement and Gordon can't carry Ricky's jock for that that type of running. If, and it is very likely, Wanny refuses to change his offense Gordon will be on IR by the 8th game he plays for Miami.

Who did you guys drop to get Gordon? I had to drop Davenport (was him or Maurice Morris) and was not too happy about it. But glad to have a possible starter over a backup, I suppose.

I just dropped the Giants Defense for Gordon.

Has anyone considered the fact that Miami may want to throw the ball a little more with screnes and dump off passes because the offensive line is so bad? They may have targeted Gordon and Davenport because they can catch out of the back field and are better open field runners than Morris and Minor. I have read a couple of articles that state that they do want to go to a more passing offense this year. They certainly do not have the WR's to do this so I can see them dumping to the tight ends more and backs out of the backfield.Gordon would be a good match-up for this philosiphy.

Would you agree that, if this trade goes through, Gordon has more value than Minor?

Dropped Bradford for him in one league and Stokely for him in another. Really no loss for me.

Tim Rattay was my last pick and my 3rd QB; just dropped him for Gordon. Didn't think about it twice...

I just dropped M Bennett for him in one league...Looks like Bennett won't be back until week 5 and I'm worried Ontario will take his job by then. I'll take a bona-fide starter any day of the week over a guy who could miss half the season..

Are you forgetting that Onterrio is going to be suspended for 4 weeks?

Week 6 pulp will work for me. I just needed some bye week help when both Holmes and T. Jones are out week 5.Come on. What do you people want. He is a free agent. Getting any type of starting back in the NFL off free agents is huge. And it gets better the bigger the league.

 I'm not sure which is more shocking, dropping Bennett for Gordon or your math skills.

I dropped the Packers D (still have Minny) to p/u Gordon. I don't plan on playing him, just packaging a trade to the Minor/Chris Brown owner in my league.FWIW, I plan on packaging Tiki and Gordon to try and get Chris Brown. :excited:

I dropped Sammy Morris for Gordon, this after picking up Sammy Morris 2 days ago.I should've stayed away from Miami's RB situation...although if I can get a starter off of the free agent list I'll take it.

I dropped Minor in one league and Northcutt in the other.

There have been six straight posts where people are announcing who they dropped in exchange for Gordon. Not to be rude, but who really cares.

Dropped Kelley Washington, now that Warrick's back healthy. In another league, dropped Anthony Thomas, who I drafted in case he got traded to Miami...

I dropped Priest Holmes in one league for Gordon and LaDainian Tomlinson in the other. Blah Blah BlahAnyone have any actual updated news on the situation?

True enough...I am trying to assess value and ascertain whether I made a good call. If the trade is announced officially, I'll then ask for projections.

Anyone else concerned with Gordon passing his physical considering his recent surgery?

The question now becomes do the Dolphins rush Gordon right into the starting lineup or go with Minor/Morris for Week 1 and then go with Gordon next week?

Good question. Also, what surgical procedure did he undergo? I heard he had bone chips removed or something. Too lazy to GIS, so anyone got the details handy?

The team does not plan to start him this weekend but the Rams and Dolphins offenses use similar terminology with their offense. Travis Minor will be the starting running back this weekend but Gordon will eventually become the featured back.

That answers that question. Thanks. :)

First Feeley and now Gordon. :rotflmao: Wanny really has his heart set on screwing up this Franchise in his last season.

He had a bone chip removed from his foot. He played in week 4 and put up 72 yards in the final preseason game.
