I leave for a couple of hours and all hell breaks loose.  I see they've doubled-down on the insanity.  Wow.

Its Panic at the Disco.

The sacred process laid out by our founding fathers:

Manu Raju @mkraju

The House is monitoring Trump’s Twitter feed very closely - once he tweets his support for the Pelosi-Mnuchin coronavirus deal, GOP members are expected to embrace it. That means they can then pass it under suspension of the rules, meaning they’d fast track it to final passage

Are we sure Pelosi hasn't snuck another abortion bill in there again?  Because its important TRUMP doesn't play politics with something this deadly.

I invited you to discuss your hypocrisy earlier this afternoon and gave you a chance to prove me wrong.  You failed to do so
Dude, he has stated repeatedly that he has you on ignore. You can quote him until kingdom come, but unless someone else quotes you, he will not see it.

Just an incredible display of leadership by Trump and his administration today.  He continues to knock it out of the park!
I agree, the Rose Garden gathering was amazing to watch. No other politician could have brought in outside business leaders like that and pulled this off. Drive thru testing at Wal Marts and Target!? Just amazing how quickly this all came together. The guy just gets #### done.

Oh i know the schtick...but it should be exposed when there is zero attempt to discuss anything.
This is not the case at all, IMO. When you respond to things that should be ignored, it makes everybody else have to do at least triple the amount of ignoring they otherwise would — usually much more than that. (Instead of just ignoring the original silly post, they now have to ignore the originally silly post, plus your request for more silliness, plus the forthcoming response to your request, at the very least.)

Can't be that hard to do 15 tests, can it?  OR are we down to 0 already?

Trump Caught Google Off Guard With a Bogus Coronavirus Site Announcement - Google's not making a nationwide coronavirus testing website. And the company had no idea the president would say it was.

Okie Dokie.  Thanks for quoting me.

If we produce of list of people that have you on ignore, will you promise not to reply to them as you're insinuating I should be doing here?

Thanks Maurile.  Now you've made me have to do the triple the amount of ignore by quoting who you did.

😁

Do you have reasons of your own that make you believe "Donald hit it out of the park"? I mean other than the compulsion to say Donald hit it out of the park.
I don't know how anyone could walk away from that and not see it that way.

Lots of Trump hating here clouding lots of normal, rational people.

In between typical Trump BS I thought there was some good info in there as I listened to it...but for starters.

And then telling a reporter her legitimate question about disbanding the pandemic office is a nasty question ...then claiming he didn’t know about it (Sherrod Browns letting shows otherwise)...then moving on as he does when he doesn’t like a question.

The others who spoke did well...Trump, not so much.

I stated you cited the study...because the fact is you linked directly to the study.  I cited a doctor and article that also stated

“If it's a regular surgical face mask, the answer is no, Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, told Live Science.
The study was linked in your article. You dont get to pretend that didnt happen now.

And the text you put above isnt actually a quote from the doctor. Here is an actual quote.

"A surgical mask might provide some protection, but it's going to be very modest," said Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

Which is very much in line with the other actual quote that was in the article you linked that I already posted.

This guy is literally confirming what i said. Not refuting it.

I am not pretending man.  But the article itself is discuss this actual virus amd how the masks aren’t effective.  Thats the point.  I think I and the article have made that point so Im moving on.

You should run over to the drive through testing stations and tell all the workers to take their masks off on the way back from picking your kids up from the theme park.

Despite warnings from health experts, Trump’s began imposing 25 percent tariffs on Chinese medical equipment in July 2018.

The tariffs resulted in a sharp decline in US imports from China of many of these critical medical products between 2017 and 2019...   3/
Not sure why exactly this is Trumps fault.  He basically told people to stop relying on China for this critical equipment and they just decided they didn’t need it?

And you should try not making things personal and just stick to advancing the actual conversation.
Im guessing they are using the proper masks and not plain surgical masks.  Then again...the article (had you read it rather than rushed to try and take a shot at me) is about the general public and not healthcare workers...who would be more likely to use more than just the typical surgical masks.

This thread man, it had so much potential but now is just a microcosm of this whole PSF. I just can’t fathom at this point what it’s going to take to break this divide.

The N95 masks aren’t rocket science to use.  Singapore Health put out a simple video about a month ago.  They are uncomfortable to wear for extended time periods as they get hot and wet inside (insert joke here).  They are effective though and anyone arguing otherwise should ask themselves why health professionals dealing with sick patients wear them (it’s because they work).  If there were an unlimited supply and everyone wore them when in public this virus would stop in its tracks as most transmission is from oral/nasal droplets.

Many thousands of Americans dying usually brings us together. So decent chance it'll occur in the next few months.

Nope. Surgical masks and little plastic visors.

Why do you think they wear those if they dont help at all?

Why do you make claims based off a guess?

It seems like some progress is being made. The stock market sure liked it, anyhow.

I play the blame game as much as anyone here and when this is all over I’m certain there will be a lot to say about that. But for the moment at least the Republicans and Democrats seem to be working together. So let’s move forward and solve the problems if we can.

Right...The article wasn't about those masks but the typical surgical masks.  Also about how people don't get a good seal on many masks leading to a lowering of their effectiveness (and I may be confusing the article with some of what he said on radio today).

Not trying to quibble here, as your point is mostly correct. But the mask and visor pictured in your link actually don't work all that well. Notice how airborne contaminants can just fall right down into your face? That visor is like a germ funnel straight into your mug.

I know they dont work super well and they would be wearing N95 masks or better if they could. I'm responding to a poster that has no idea what he is talking about, running around spouting bad information on the regular.

I’d say “I hope so” but really don’t want the many thousands dying part. But I’m shocked honestly that where we are now hasn’t done it.  It’s massively disheartening.
