Colts B+

I thought going into the draft the Colts needed a TE, DL, OL, CB, LB. I loved their first two picks, but Justin Walley is kind of a head scratcher. Some potential with the OT Travis in the 4th. Giddens in the 5th round was a steal and should provide better depth at RB than they had last year, which was pretty bad.

1st round -Tyler Warren| TE | Penn St. - We all know how bad they needed one of Warren or Loveland. They haven't had a viable TE since Dallas Clark

2nd round - J.T. Tuimoloau | Edge | Ohio State - 21.5 TFL in 2024 (3rd in FBS), 12.5 sacks in 2024 (T-5th in FBS), 6.5 sacks in four playoff games. Potential stud.

3rd round - Justin Walley | CB | Minnesota - Some might consider this a reach. 155 tackles (113 solo), 27 passes defended, seven picks, and a defensive score. Not currently happy with the pick. Sure, he could prove me wrong, but I think better players could have been selected with a 3rd round pick.

4th round - moved back 10 spots for an additional 2026 4th and 6th. Great trade.
4th round - Jalen Travis | OT | Iowa St. - great size and long arms. High ceiling guy. Had the second-best vertical leap and tied for the fourth-best broad jump for the offensive linemen at the combine. Position of need.

5th round- DJ Giddens | RB | Kansas St. - Excellent backup for Taylor. What they had last year was garbage.

6th round - Riley Leonard | QB | Norte Dame - Good 3rd string guy. Every team needs someone like him.
6th round - Tim Smith | DT | Alabama - Depth piece. I don’t know anything about him.

7th round - Hunter Wohler | S | Wisconsin - Depth guy - In 2023, he led all Big Ten defensive backs with 120 total tackles, the highest for a Badger DB since 1991. His 74 solo tackles topped all defensive backs nationally.

I love what Washington is doing, and you have to include the players they traded picks for to truly evaluate this class. Clearly the focus was helping support Jayden Daniels

Tunsil and Conerly are HUGE upgrades for our o-line. Safe to say this is our best line in a long time. A+
Amos and Lattimore (since he was trade from draft picks) address another huge need for this team. If Lattimore returns healthy I'd rate this duo an A as well.
Deebo and Lane - further support for Jayden, and Deebo for a 5th feels like a steal. Lane has great speed, perhaps he's a Dyami Brown upgrade, and I assume his return game was a big reason he was drafted. I'd rate the WR duo a strong B.
I assume Washington will go pass rush or RB in the 6th/7th round. I do think Brian Robinson owners should feel relieved they passed on a RB after 4 rounds. I for one always felt Robinson and Ekler were a very strong duo, they just needed a better line and got that this offseason.

I agree they have made some very good moves and I expect Maye to finish in the top 10 if not top 7 this year. Just a hunch.

Pick No. 26 - Edge James Pearce Jr.: B/D
The player is fine...the means to acquire him - irresponsible (2026 1st rounder); thus the double grade. With Ezeiruaku going 2 spots before their original 2nd round pick (#44) and Mike Green going at #59 to the Ravens, this simply felt unnecessary at the time and more so in retrospect.

Pick No. 96 - Safety Xavier Watts: A/C
Same dynamic as Pearce in that they acquired the #101 pick in the Pearce deal and then traded a 2026 5th to move up 5 spots. From a value perspective, Watts is tremendous and should start opposite Jessie Bates on Day 1. But the 2025 season likely needs to exceed expectations for the Falcons to not lament giving up their 1st rounder next year. Vegas as their O/U for wins at 8th worst.

Pick No. 118 - Defensive back Billy Bowman Jr.: B
Not too many qualms about the talent and fit. I might have tried for some beef up front, but with the Falcons indicating a more versatile/nickel type role for him...the value was solid.

Pick No. 218 - Offensive Tackle Jack Nelson: B+
Solid value who could turn into a depth piece.

Drafted some guys I've never heard of when lots of guys I'd heard of (from looking at numerous rankings) were still on the board in the mid rounds. Which just means, I hope they had real reasons to get the guys that weren't high in the rankings. I like the positions they drafted for sure; was hoping for a CB, though.

I’m very happy as a Pats fan. Without fully knowing Vrabs view of OLine vet depth I thought they could have added another depth piece, future right OT or something. But I can’t see a pick they should have passed on. Same with TE. But, there is still some FA ability. Some cuts are coming.

I thought they drafted timid, no aggression at all. Day 1 and 2 were kind if just there. Nothing was done to significantly plug holes in need areas. Day three was an absolute train wreck and was honestly embarrassing.

I agree with your statement they weren't aggressive. I would have thought they would have made a better effort to address the RB position.

After a string of F's I am taking the homer road and going with an A for the Pats...on paper they filled a lot of holes and continue with their new identity...after going D-heavy in FA they focused on the O with their first 4 picks...Campbell fills a huge hole at LT and from all accounts will be a team leader right away which helps with the new culture Vrabel is instilling...there are valid concerns about the arm length/wingspan but if he does have to go to Guard at some point everything points to him being elite at that position...obviously hope LT works out but feel like the kid is pretty much bust-proof...Henderson and Williams bring badly needed speed and playmaking ability...with McDaniels back Henderson has a chance to be a real weapon...after years of bad picks at WR my hope with Williams is that he is simply good and breaks that string...Wilson in the 3rd is one of those how do you not like that pick...#1 rated Center from Georgia that is a legit athlete that can also play Guard...gotta love that profile...Woodson is the pick many of us don't know much about and some experts think may have been a reach but the more you read about him the more it makes sense...with all the talent on the board when they made that pick at 4.4 the more it shows they feel strongly about the kid...Swinson and Farmer are two more how do you not like those picks for where you got them...with Milton Williams, Tonga and Chaisson (and Landry depending on how you view his position) coming in Free agency and hopefully Barmore coming back the Pats should be somewhat deep on the D-line... Borregales was the #1 rated kicker and if he pans out that could be a sneaky good pick...would love to not have to worry about that position for the next 6 or 7 years...Bryant is a 7th round lottery ticket O-lineman so who knows what happens there but it is a why not pick...last two picks are special teams picks... Ashby is a long-snapper...Cardona is 33 but feels like he has been here for 25 years...not sure if this is competition or an attempt to get younger...Minor is a CB and Mr. Irrelevant...no clue about him...overall between Free Agency and the Draft the Pats have had a pretty dramatic roster makeover in a short-period of time and there is definitely rejuvenated life with the fans...trying to temper expectations because everything looks good on paper in April but this team could make some noise this year which seemed almost impossible when the season ended...just feels like a foundation is now being built.

I’ve seen a few experts say that the value of two late thirds next year to move up that much for Teslaa isn’t too bad. But it sure seems like they could have waited 10 or 15 more picks and paid a lot less.

The 3 spot jump for ratledge was probably worse value-wise, but I’m not concerned about it if they had ratledge rated a lot higher than their next-best guard. It was a big need.

Plan was to get bigger and tougher and they did that with pretty much all their picks. Looks like their plan is more of a 3/4ish slant so two big body DTs and a third project works to that regard.

Phillips and Ewers were steals, and love the RB pick because he is the opposite of what we have back there now.

While I am not a fan of the OG they took in round 2, he is highly rated and a big body so the O line looks to be young and strong moving forward. The trade up for him to me was a bit of a panic move since a guy I liked (MBOW) lasted all the way to the 5th round.

I do not think they have addressed their back 7 on defense although the corner from Florida (GO GATORS!) and the safety they picked up should help with depth. I see a lot of FA moves for corners upcoming for Miami.

Would have liked one more O lineman in the draft and think Ewers is a great pick from the garbage heap that was QBs after Milroe.

Miami got "lucky" and their specific needs dovetailed with this draft.

I’ve heard similar now about the value. The difference for me is Rat was a player who seemed worthy of moving up for and he wasn’t going to fall to their next pick. It seems like a pretty good chance they could have sat right and still got Tessla.

NFL draft grades: Ranking all 32 teams' 2025 classes, including baffling Browns

With the 2025 NFL draft complete, it's time to hand out grades. Which teams topped our ranking of the best team classes, and which fell to the bottom?

Ranked Miami 31st in this Draft class, only an Incomplete by Cleveland rated out worse at 32

Sports Illustrated rated them a "C" and I've seen some other sites that have Miami more in the B range but you only see Draft Grades of A-B and then getting a C is almost like an "F"
Very few teams are ever slipped a D/F overall for their draft efforts, I think that's mostly done so media types can still be welcome in the building.

Grant was a solid pick but the DT class was loaded, Grier could have opted to take a DT in the 2nd which is what I would have preferred
Then he trades 48-98-135 to move up to get a 3rd round grade OG/OT, another flexible OL for Grier that never seems to pan out.
Miami could have addressed OL in the 3rd or 4th/5th round where they had 5 picks between 98-155 before Grier started trading them away

1st Rd - Jahdae Barron was the obvious pick but if you decided to pass and take Grant, why not take Will Johnson at 48, heck that's who I assumed they were trading up to get, Johnson was projected by ALL websites to be gone by about 15-20 in the Draft. Miami could have had numerous DBs in the 2nd round and decided to burn draft capital to move up to 36/37, same crap Grier pulled when he took Liam Eichenberg, same type of move.

2nd Rd - Alexander/Sanders/Collins, numerous DT they could have taken or I would have supported going Safety at 48 to pair with Barron and overhaul the Secondary
Miami still could have shored up both the OL and DL in the 3rd/4th and 5th rounds with 7 picks at their disposal

3rd Rd- Miami traded them away

-I did like Ewers selection at QB, think that was an "A" selection but overall I am not happy at all with what they did, most of these guys won't be on the roster when Grier/McDaniel eventually shown the door although Grier will actually get kicked up to VP like Tannenbaum after he flunked out as GM

The only silver lining is Miami doesn't have many long term contracts to mess the cap up. Despite talk of them being over next season, Tua can be released if need be and save them over $35M in cap space so at the least they can restructure his deal, everyone else has cap friendly deals or Miami is actively trying to trade them like Ramsey and Hill, I assume both are gone Post June-1st which isn't that far away.

I would give Grier about a "C/C+" at best, felt he could have traded down in the 2nd instead of up and give Miami more picks to fill the holes.
Miami still needs 2-3 Cornerbacks, a frontline Safety, another DL that can play alongside Grant and Sieler, LBs are questionable on this team and the OL still isn't strong

I would have drafted Sanders at 115, that would have been the point where risk/reward and the likelihood Tua misses time, that all would have played a major factor
As it is, Ewers is a nice find and I understand many don't think much of him but I feel he landed on a good team to develop and perhaps become an NFL QB at some point.

I don't know, guys. I think Baltimore addressed areas of need and a depth shortage in a few places. I think a few of these players (& the UDFAs) will shore up their STs, which badly needs it.

As I posted in the Ravens team thread, many of the national pundits will cut-and-paste a B+ like they do every year. I just don't know enough about all of the players to give the Ravens a knowledgeable grade, so I'll go with a boring B because I love the first two picks.

I love what the Boys did. PFF gave them an A+ (1 of only 3 given out). SI gave Dallas a B+, out-drafting Philly and Washington.

Day-2 was especially good with 2 grand slams (Ezieruaku and Revel). Their 1st round pick was nice and safe with Booker, but the Cowboys are doing a good job of rebuilding their OL. They're now the youngest group in the league, which includes 3 1st round picks and a 3rd-rounder.

I'll eat some humble pie and only give them an A.

It was wasn’t a very exciting draft from a fan stand point but I trust George Payton and Sean Payton. Denver didn’t have many holes to fill other than at RB. The Broncos didn’t pick any of the players I hoped they would…Henderson, Skattebo, B Smith, etc.

Pick 20) Jahde Barron CB Texas….. One of the best corners. Versatile. Seems to be a great kid. Denvers secondary struggled last year when Riley Moss was injured. It’s nice to have an extra quality db. He’s an upgrade over McMillian who was pretty good. some had him as a top ten talent. I wanted T Henderson bad even though it was early. I’ll still give the pick an A.

Pick 60) RJ Harvey RB UCF….Not Treveyon but not bad. He fills a big need. Home run threat. Fun to watch. B+

Pick 74) Pat Bryant WR Illinois……I never heard of him until yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised by his tape. Big, great hands, excellent route runner, good after the catch and a good blocker. We need his blocking to replace Lil Jordan Humphry. He’ll be some competition for Vele. He seemed to be picked way earlier than expected. Sean Payton don’t care…..I give it a B-

The rest of the picks were more developmental/special teams/Getting ahead of free agency types. I won’t bore you with them.

I’m giving Denver a B overall. This is coming from a guy who has a C- knowledge of the situation.

Packers B-

Love getting a WR in the first. Would have preferred a CB, but Barron was gone and as much as I love Will Johnson whatever is going on with his injury status probably made passing the right thing. Crowd loved the pick and it was an area of need.

Again wanted defense addressed in rounds two and three, but in Packer fashion round two went to O line and a raw high upside prospect in the third. Anthony Belton adds nice depth to the line where you can never have enough. Savion Williams has all the measurables to be a difference maker in the Deebo Samuel mold. He could be an exciting addition to the offense and hopefully adds value in the return game. Time will tell if these are the right moves or not. Would have liked to snag Shavon Revel in the second.

Was praying for Jack Sawyer in the fourth and missed him by one pick. Excited to see what Barryn Sorrell and Collin Oliver will bring to the Defensive front and it's more depth which is never a bad thing.

The rest of the draft is your typical late round developmental players, so hopefully there's a diamond in the rough or a steady contributor.

Overall i liked Golden in the first, but wish they could have improved the pass rush and cornerback position in the first 3 rounds. Hopefully pretty much ignoring CB till late means Alexander is healthy and motivated. Good not great draft imo.

Pat Bryant is a great WR and played on just an OK team, I know WRs making a splash past the 1st/2nd rounds aren't very often but he stands a good chance to find a role there in Denver
Franklin was just OK last year, Bryant could be better and will give Nix more options
I don't expect major things from him 1st year but 35-40 key catches and some big TDs sprinkled in with more responsibilities to come in '26.
I like Bryant's upside, great pick

Pick 74) Pat Bryant WR Illinois……I never heard of him until yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised by his tape. Big, great hands, excellent route runner, good after the catch and a good blocker. We need his blocking to replace Lil Jordan Humphry. He’ll be some competition for Vele. He seemed to be picked way earlier than expected. Sean Payton don’t care…..I give it a B-

I’m giving Denver a B overall. This is coming from a guy who has a C- knowledge of the situation.

Pat Bryant is a great WR and played on just an OK team, I know WRs making a splash past the 1st/2nd rounds aren't very often but he stands a good chance to find a role there in Denver
Franklin was just OK last year, Bryant could be better and will give Nix more options
I don't expect major things from him 1st year but 35-40 key catches and some big TDs sprinkled in with more responsibilities to come in '26.

It seemed that the other 31 teams didn't want to work any big deals with Howie. It was said that many teams were blocking the 215 area code. Eagles have many players that will need to get paid soon so Howie needs the cap to continually increase plus add young depth to the defense. Given all that plus the dudes we got plus added more picks for 2026 I give an A+.

This is the WR draft class you finally decide to take one in the 1st? A WR that doesn't even automatically scream WR1 on a team full of WR2 and 3s. I'm hopeful for the kid to do well, but this was what I was hoping they wouldn't do this year unless they wanted to trade up. It was a beautiful scene at Lambeau to watch.

Seeing what teams were trading away to get back into the end of the 1st, I wish the Pack would have taken one of those deals instead of taking Golden.

We needed WR, no doubt but I think we needed some D just as much.

As touching as it was to watch that DE get drafted in the 4th round, we should have taken one a couple rounds earlier.

I think who they did take are all fine where they took them in relation to what was available. Just wish there had been some of the (traditional? old school now?) jockeying around during the draft to maximize value and pick up a couple extra camp bodies.

The Bears draft was a mixed bag: some nice picks, some value gained through trade-downs, some value lost through reaches.

My favorite moves were the Burden & Frazier picks and the trade that turned a 5th round pick into a future 4th plus another pick (148 for 195 & a 2026 4th). Loveland and their rd6/7 picks Newman & Monangai seemed fine. The late 2nd round picks Trapilo & Turner were each a bit of a reach and Hyppolite was a huge reach. Their other trade-downs seemed fine, except insofar as they set up those reaches (though it's better than reaching for Trapilo at 41).

I like that they didn't force a particular position early, and went after players that they (and I) think are good. Loveland & Burden add weapons to the offense, giving them two shots at adding an elite playmaker and making it much more likely that Williams will have a bunch of good options on the field. And I like that they spent the draft looking to add value by trading down (and adding future picks), rather than burning value by trading up & trading away future picks as they have tended to do in recent years (except for the Bryce Young trade). Also liked that they prioritized athleticism on day 3 (except for Monangai), though with Hyppolite that was too much of a reach.

Putting it all together into an overall evaluation is a little tricky - I find it easier to do that if I pretend that they'd turned their original picks into their draft haul in this way:

I'll eat some humble pie and only give them an A.

Raiders A--

I couldn't give it a B but there was a whole lot of swinging on massive potential with the result being that it's a little light on proven production for an A-.

Jeanty at 6 has special potential.

Two trade-downs in the 2nd netted two additional 3rd's and we still took a very nice WR in Jack Bech. He's a 4.49 away from being a top 20 talent with everything else he does well.

Darien Porter at 68 has super-sized athleticism and potential, he's a CB converted from WR so still learning and adjusting but the upside is enormous.

Speaking of two additional 3rd's from the trade-downs, LVR grabbed a pair of OL at 98 and 99. In particular Charles Grant at 99 could be a huge payout.

Day 3 saw another super-athlete swing for the fences at WR with Dont'e Thornton, a couple of DT with some immediate rotational ability, and the two QB that duked it out in the FBS championship game.

And they got a guy 6'0, 207, who jumped 41" and ran 4.39 at his pro day. Oh, and he's one of the QB mentioned above. Raiders 6th round pick Tommy Mellott is absolutely insane

His pro day showing rose his draft stock, as he clocked in a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash plus a 41-inch vertical jump. If Mellott had participated in the NFL Combine, it would've been the best marks by any quarterback in attendance. He also put up 19 reps of 225 pounds in the bench press, which would've tied for second among receivers at the Combine.​

It’s difficult to go A+ for the Eagles. Do I think Howie maximized his selections? I do. In the first round, Jiihad Campbell is a no brainer, swing for the fences every time kind of pick. From there I can’t fault him for who he picked but as it played out there were better players within reach with a minor trade up. When value wasn’t there he traded down and If other GMs locked him out of trade ups it is what it is. His post draft PC had a disappointed vibe which I totally get. I’ll go B-
