Graduation Open House Announcements (1 Viewer)

My wife and I were just having this conversation as our daughter is graduating high school next year and of course my wife wants to start planning it now.

Despite the fact that I love to cook for big groups of people, we both agree that we do not want to have a bunch of people coming and going in our house. Our backyard is the size of a postage stamp so having a big barbecue back there would end up being crowded. So we are probably going to rent a place which I'm sure is going to cost a fortune.

You know I hate TV programs that have these kids with extravagant birthdays and graduation parties where the parents give them keys to a new car. It really makes it hard to compete with some of this crap without totally destroying your kids expectations.

You must be from a part of the country that was way ahead in celebrating their delicate flowers.  As most of posters have noted, when we graduated (80's) this kind of thing was not done.  Neither were elementary and junior high graduations.
People didn't have graduation parties in the 80's?  :loco:
