i'm far from a bieber hater, but you don't think the hate has anything to do with him acting like a gigantic tool for the better part of the last 2 years?

Compared to a lot of kids who became world famous as an early teen, he didn't do too bad.  And you may be right, some may hold that against him.  But I think that if he would have just stayed a squeaky clean kid singing teen pop hits, the guys claiming he was a no-talent would have been the same.

Didn't hear anyone say that.  To think he's great, you'd have to appreciate his music. And it's certainly aimed at old geezers like you or me.  But he is most certainly talented.

The "intro" for Glenn Frey was horrible.  The girl that was with Ed Sheeran, who won song of the year, was just about to talk and they cut her off to go to a video of Glenn, but people were booing, because of the cut off, and it was hard to hear.  It's pretty sad that they wouldn't have someone come out and setup the video and explain the link to the song, Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne, who was singing it.

That's the thing.  This album wasn't meant to have hits.  The entire album was meant to be a timeless classic and it is.  But i dont replay single songs from the album.  WHen i listen i listen to it as a whole.   He showed on his first album he can make hits.  This time around he showed he can make a Grammy winning album that made a statement.

I don't believe I have ever watched the Grammys.  Any knowledge I have of it comes through this site.  As near as I can tell it generally features some hot chicks who also sing but mainly are famous for titillating behavior, some androgynous boys, some transvestite or transgendered woman, and rappers with inflated senses of self worth interrupting acceptance speeches.  If it also featured a segment of chimps flinging poo at partisan democrats and republicans, who, being blind from birth have never looked into a mirror, who are flinging mud in every direction it would be a microcosm of this place and pretty fine entertainment.  maybe I will try to catch it next year.

Someone could have said the same thing about Bowie years ago when he dressed up in all sorts of ways. Like Bowie, Gaga marches to the beat of her own drum. Maybe that is why they picked her to do the tribute.

Liked it, just wished it had been longer.

Some snippets were just a few seconds. I guess the tradeoff was, they could have done fewer longer excerpts, but he had a lot of hits, so the medley that went for breadth more than depth was admittedly more representative of his body of work as a whole.

One of the highlights, IMO. And Gaga/Metallica had not performed yet when I posted. Tech difficulties kinda took away from that. 

Overall, just seems a little slow so far. Even Bruno didn't crank it up like I thought he would.

Everybody wanting more Gary Clarke Jr/more blues.  I think Gaga/Metallica would have been epic without the mic screw up.  Could have done without the Adele do over.  Enough with the Beyonce worshipping already.  I don't need 5 minutes of "look at the Queen" production before you sing a single note.  Quit taking yourself  so seriously.

Several good mashups.  Overall enjoyed the show.  Bruno killed Let's go Crazy...
