Grand Theft Auto ... Ok for 11 year old? (1 Viewer)

Total wussification of the american male

Better hope another WW doesbt break out or this country is doomed
so how did all the old tough guys get tough way back in the day without playing video games?
Toy gunsMalnutrition

No age limits for alcohol and tobacco

Manual labor

The great depression

Narcotics available over the counter

Video games are our last line of defense
Aren't you like 25?

My wife's nephew is 16 and is strictly forbidden from playing the game. One day he showed me how to clear a bunch of missions, and on the way to one of them he stopped to pick up a hooker, got a BJ, then murdered her with a shotgun and took her money.
After that did he play the game with you?

My point is that the kid probably knows about all the bad stuff already. So if your whole purpose is to not get your kid the game in an effort to shield him from that stuff, it's most likely completely futile.
11 year olds know what hookers do for a living and what a blow job is and how extortion works?
I did and and so did most of the kids I knew. this was pre- Internet too. I can only imagine what kids know about these days.I first learned about hookers and #######s and such things on a Boy Scout trip of all things when I was about 10.
learned about bjs on a Boy Scout trip? :oldunsure:
Not what you think. The older scouts had girlfriends and they were a plethora of knowledge.
so whats your limit on what you would knowingly allow a kid to see ...watch or play?
I wouldn't make any futile attempts to shield my kids from a gta game that has things they already know about. I'd pick another battle.

I certainly wouldn't want my kids to be one of those dweebs who never had anything cool because their parents were so damn conservative. Those were the kids who ended up cutting themselves or were just plain odd.

So, you dont have kids?

Having nothing cool <> not playing one game
