Greatest Single Game by a Player in Fantasy Football History (1 Viewer)

NYJ - Riggins 67 pass from Namath (Howfield kick), 12:23.
Sorry in advance for another hijack. Seeing Bobby Howfield's name brought back some memories of when I was a kid collecting football cards. I opened up a pack, saw his card, and I thought to myself that this guy has to be about 87 years old.

THIS is one of Howfield's cards.

Am I crazy, or did many of the players in the 70's look like they were 60 when they were 30?!?!?!

Joe Namath's '72 game against the Colts and Johnny U:

Namath/496 yds(6 TDs) + Unitas/376 yds(2TDs) = NFL Record 872 combined passing yards

...Namath threw for 3 TDs- wrapped around Colts turnovers/scores -in 89 seconds... and LATER hit Caster for 79 and 80 yd TD strikes on back to back offensive plays. Has to be up there.

:football:
Yeah, I'm surprised that this game doesn't at least make ESPN's Top 10. In a league awarding distance bonuses for TDs, it would have to be.

Somebody (read: "not me") has to put these together with standard FBG scoring and take away the mystery.

In case you are curious Shawn Bradley supposedly holds down the single game record for the NBA IIRC. He had a triple double with blocks and rebounds and points one night.

Too lazy to look it up.

How about "greatest run to the championship"? I'll put these stats next to anyones.

WK VS. Rec. YDS TD

13 stl 7 107 | 1 |

14 gnb 8 147 | 2 |

The Year was 1999

And the Player was???

Patrick Jeffers. One of the greatest fantasy blips on anyone's radar.

Sorry for the Hijaak  but I just had to give him some props.

Didn't Shaun Alexander go for 6 TDs on a Monday night a couple of years back?
No.
My bad. It was 5 against the Vikes in 2002. Here's what FBG had listed as the top 5 since 99. 1 pt every 10 rushing yards; 1 pt every 10 receiving yards; 6 pts per touchdown, 1 pt per receptionClinton Portis (Den): 57.4 FP against the Chiefs in 2003 LaDainian Tomlinson (SD): 56.1 FP against the Broncos in 2002 Shaun Alexander (Sea): 56.1 FP against the Vikings in 2002 Priest Holmes (KC): 55.7 FP against the Seahawks in 2002 Marshall Faulk (StL): 54.5 FP against the Seahawks in 2002
and it was a Sunday night, so I'll give you close enough points

Not sure how they stack up but Bennett, when Volek was starting a few years ago put up something like 300 yards and 3 TDs or so in basically 1 half of football.Patten a few years ago broke some records with the TDs he scored.I'm too lazy to look up the stats, but both of those guys have to be up there
That Bennett performance knocked me out of the playoffs, and for that he will never be on any of my teams. :wall:

what about when Steve Beuerlein went 22-41 for 322 yards and 5 TDs in 1999?

It was the last week of the season and Carolina needed to score points because one of the tie-breakers for getting into the playoffs was points scored

The best single game point production in my league was Jimmy Smith in Week 2 of 2000. 15-291, 3td's (5pt/5rec, 1pt/10 yds, 5pt/100 yards, 6 pt td) which gave him 72 points.

In 1995, high school RB Ronney Jenkins rushed for 619 yards and 7 TD's in a game. He made it to the NFL, playing for the Chargers, Raiders, and Saints, mostly as a punt/kickoff returner. I know this thread was about NFL stats, but I couldn't pass this up.
What ever happened to Ronney Jenkins? He was a good returner for the bolts. Didn't he reach the all pro team one year?

Not a winner but I remember Vick won this one for me

week 13 at Vikings in 2002

11-28, 173 yds and 1 td passing

10-173 and 2 td's rushing

Not the greatest game ever but perhaps the greatest line up mistake of all time. So big that it has not been forgotten by all involved:

1994 1st week any of us played FF

Guy passed on starting Dan Marino who went out and did

23-42-1-473

Ingram 64 pass from Marino

Jackson 26 pass from Marino

Fryar 54 pass from Marino

Fryar 50 pass from Marino

Fryar 35 pass from Marino

for

Commander Cody Carlson 11-22-1-129 and a shoulder injury.
