ARTICLE 3. COMPLETED OR INTERCEPTED PASS

"Note: If a player has control of the ball, a slight movement of the ball will not be considered a loss of possession. He must lose control of the ball in order to rule that there has been a loss of possession."

NFL Rulebook
That’s in the field of play and going to the ground.  If there is movement as his foot lifts...it would be incomplete.  But there wasn’t. The only question was did he have control before the one foot came off the ground.  It was close and the call in the field stood (as it should have). Had they first called it incomplete...decent chance that would have stood too. Buta chance that it’s overturned to complete.

While this is certainly true Hundley was not the reason the Packers lost yesterday.
End of the day, this team either isn't good enough to win with Hundley, or Hundley isn't good enough to win with this team.  Doesn't matter.  McCarthy is exposed.  He's Aaron Rodgers' caddy, nothing more.

All of that may be true.  I'm just saying that getting 250+ yards, 3 TDs and 0 picks on the road against a playoff team is as good as you're going to get from a backup QB.

Did you see how the 250 yards and 3 TDs happened?  Two of the TDs were basically broken plays.
They still counted, right?    QBs like Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger make a living on turning broken plays into TDs.  I can't believe that anyone would be complaining about Hundley's play last night.

Anyone bagging in Hundley over last night seem a bit misguided.  He played well.  That game was lost on defense.

Defense and McCarthy. I'm not normally one to pile on McCarthy, but the 57 yard FG was idiotic, and put the defense in a bad spot. Also, when you get the ball back with 90 seconds to go in the game, scoring or OT should be the only outcomes. No way Pitt should get the ball back with any time left.

Agreed on both count.  The 57 yard FG attempt was beyond stupid, especially at Heinz Field

Tell that to Austin Seferian-Jenkins yesterday.

And coaching.  Don’t forget coaching
Agreed...I think McCarthy called an ok game.  The problems where when Pitt starting bringing pressure...they didn't have a good answer for a couple of drives.  I don't think thats on Hundley but on McCarthy...and that foolish idea to try that long FG.

Agreed on both...whether that last part was coaching or Williams just being bad and running out of bounds there.

However.  if they run three straight times...and go to OT and lose...the normal fans would also claim he was too conservative there with 90 seconds left and a time out.  I thought they should have run it there and played for OT.  Or a more high percentage quick pass and then see what happens.

Williams screwed it up by running out of bounds on 2nd down though...that was awful.

I do agree that McCarthy is riding the coattails of Rodgers. He should probably be replaced if they find someone they think can do better. GM as well. Rodgers is doing what Peyton used to, make the FO and Coaching staff appear better than they really are. It's easy to win lots of games with an All-Pro (except for the Colts with Luck).

I don't even care what he did in warm-ups. That place is notoriously difficult to kick in. There was little reason to believe Mason would make that kick.
Actually I was thinking that in warm ups he likely had established an outside range of something less than that and then McCarthy likely ignored that range, though I have no way of knowing that for sure.

It isn’t against the guy. It’s against Football Jones and his imaginary “process”. I stated very clearly I had no doubt that Williams can catch the ball. He is a crap athlete. He lives up to that billing when he touches the ball. He won’t be in the league long because he’s an Alfred Blue type of player.
What do I have to do with the fact you hate Jamaal Wiliams? LOL.

My "imaginary" process combines eyeball scouting with metrics with emphasis on eyeballs. Similar to a lot of other FFers I'm guessing.

I know Williams sticks in your craw, but I'm not sure what to yell you. I, myself, am not sure about Williams, only that I believe he's got the physical ability to be a feature back.

I liked the fact you could get a potential feature back in a good offense in the late 2nd/early 3rd of most dynasty drafts. I wan't super-high on him coming out like I was Cook, for instance, but Williams' upside/price combination was attractive.

As far as your boy Aaron Jones, I still maintain he's NOT going to be a long-term feature back. At this point, I'm pretty confident of that.

If you or anyone else is high on Jones, that's cool. FF is all about differing opinions.

He bobbled the ball. Look im not defending the idiocy of NFL catch rules these days, but both the Dez catch and the Seferian-Jenkins catch there are frames you can point to where control is in question. There isnt a single moment where AB bobbles or double clutches that ball.
