Greg Little hype train (2 Viewers)

Wow he sucks. Glad I backed him up with picks of Cobb in the 3rd last year, and Jeffrey in the first and Jerome Simpson in the 4th this year. Man this guy blows.

With Massaquoi nursing a hamstring who will they start if Little is demoted?
More 2 TE sets with both Watson and Cameron, more Cribbs, maybe activate Norwood and use him out of the slot in 3 WR sets. Little's not going to lose all of his snaps, he'll still be out there, probably more like 1/2 of the team's snaps instead of almost all of them though. They like him in the run game so even if he doesn't suffer much in the snaps count it may be because he's still out there frequnetly on run plays.

The fact that Little is still a starting WR for Clev is a true tribute to how pathetic their WRs really are. T. Benjamin may be the best guy they have and he wasn't even the the best WAr at Mia last year.

If Massaquoi is active Thursday then Little won't be starting anymore.

He is such a disappointment both as a fan and a fantasy owner. I really believed that he would show a lot of improvement after having a full offseason of coaching and reps. I was at a couple of games last year and was not impressed with his route running. What I have seen on tv this year doesn't seem any better. I know the drops are what's getting him benched, but that's not the only thing he needs a lot of work on. He was supposed to be our #1 reciever, and I don't see a guy that would be a #3 on many of the other teams.

This guy is nothing more than a really crappy version of Braylon Edwards. Braylon version 0.5 if you will. Big, strong and fast, but a terrible route runner, atrocious hands, and a lousy attitude. He's not gonna be on our team much longer if he keeps this #### up.

Needed a body at wr so I traded a 1 for him last week. This stings a bit. Was hoping for him to straighten it out, but MoMass has clearly looked like best wr on that team

Yep and because he's performed so well it will translate into us simply cutting him at some point. The Factory of Sadness continues churning out product

Last chance tonight or he's getting dropped from my bench.

Who should I start for A. Brown replacement? Burleson or Hartline?

I think his hype train collided with the Cutler hype train. Not pretty.

Hoping the engineers get one of them back on the rails.

I'm holding and here's why:

I was very high on Victor Cruz last year and I believe there was a Sunday or Monday night game where he was seriously struggling. He kept running the wrong routes and dropping balls and both his OC and Eli were furious. His OC literally YANKED him off the field and Cruz didn't play a single snap the rest of the game. That's when I dropped Cruz. I don't remember if this benching lasted for two games or just for the rest of that one game, but Hixon went on to take his place and had decent showings until he tore his ACL on a juggling TD catch. The very next week, Cruz had another opportunity to enter the starting lineup and began his monster season.

Now first of all, Little is in no way shape or form in a similar situation that Cruz was last year. Cruz was in a 5,000 yard passing offense led by a maturing Eli. The Browns are currently on pace for a 3,600 yard passing offense with a rookie QB who is sure to see his struggles. But regardless, 3 games is too small of a sample to "give up" on a player you scouted and believed in. Little is definitely droppable in shallower 10 team leagues where some high upside players might be on the waiver wire, but I'm not dropping him for scraps in deeper 12 team leagues.

At this point, as a stash in hold on a dynasty team....I'd rather roster Gordon than Little. Tonight, with a nationwide audience, will be Little's last shot at holding any value.

I was a huge supporter of this kid...it's not even weeden its HIM. Dude has hands of stone. IF he one day recrtifies that ill jump back on but for now im off the hype train!

Yes, he has stone hands but he didn't have this problem his junior year in college despite it being his first year as a WR. Personally, I don't like his personality but he's only 23 and has time to improve both his attitude and on the field play.

Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur comes down hard on Greg Little

By Mary Kay Cabot, The Plain Dealer

BEREA, Ohio -- Pat Shurmur sent a message loud and clear to receiver Greg Little Monday: catch the passes and drop the poses.

Shurmur warned Little that if he doesn't hang on, he'll be posing on the bench. "We can't play a guy that's going to drop footballs," said Shurmur.

Shurmur isn't amused by Little imitating Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt when he makes a first down -- one finger pointed to the sky, the other arm poised to shoot an arrow. He struck the pose with the Browns trailing the Bills, 17-7, in the third quarter and again in the fourth after a 17-yard catch that was wiped out by holding.

Little also "Bolted" in Cincinnati and shimmied in the end zone after his touchdown catch while the Browns were losing.

"I can't speak for everyone else, but I've had my conversations with him about that," said Shurmur. "Now whether people see me ranting and raving on the sideline at a player -- trust me, I have my conversations with him."

Little agreed to halt the pose on Monday, especially with fans hammering him on Twitter.

"We didn't have the start to the season we wanted I think this is just being looked at as a negative thing," he said. "And I never wanted this to happen where the pose took a negative spin, so if it manifested in that way, I just won't do it anymore. It's easy for me to stop."

He acknowledged that Shurmur has talked to him about it, and that Browns' skid has magnified it.

"I think if we were 3-0, everybody would be doing the pose, but we're 0-3 so everybody doesn't want to see that," he said.

In Shurmur's mind, ditching the drops is bigger than busting the Bolt. Little's drop of a third-down pass killed a drive right before halftime and drew harsh words from Shurmur. He dropped another one at the goal-line against the Eagles that could've been a TD. Instead, it turned into an interception. Last season, Little either led the league or tied for second with a dozen or so dropped passes -- depending on who's counting.

"We've been working with him consistently [since] we got him," said Shurmur. "When he goes out in the game he has to catch the football. We need to get better results."

Shurmur warned that if Little, who led the Browns with 61 catches and 709 yards last season, doesn't shape up, he'll sit.

"We're going to try to get the best combination of guys on the field," said Shurmur. "But we have young players, so we need to work with them and inspire them to play better."

Little said he expects to start Thursday night. "My preparation is putting me to where I'll be in the game," he said.

Making matters worse is the fact that second-leading receiver Mohamed Massaquoi sat out Monday with a pulled hamstring and is iffy for the Ravens. If he can't play, Jordan Norwood will replace him.

"I'll try to get a speedy recovery," said Massaquoi.

The Browns struggled Sunday to get production from their wideouts. Nine of Weeden's 27 completions went to receivers, and only half of his attempts to them were completed. Rookies Travis Benjamin and Josh Gordon combined for five catches, but are raw.

Josh Cribbs caught a team-high 24-yarder, but Shurmur doesn't sound eager to use him more. For his part, Cribbs isn't asking.

"If you say 'put me in,' you become that 'me' guy," Cribbs said. "It's a fine line."

Despite Little's slow start -- tied for third with seven catches -- Shurmur says he prepares like a pro. "Greg's extremely tough, and Greg's got to be more consistent catching the football," said Shurmur.

Little spent time on the JUGS pass-catching machine after practice Monday, catching some, dropping others.

"That's just my everyday, normal routine," he said. "I come out early, get balls and stay late and get balls. Sticking to my routine, staying within myself and not trying to think too much or just do anything that I haven't been doing, I think I'll be OK."

He said it's the magnitude of the drops more than the quantity. "It's third [down] and I've got to come up with that play," he said.

He said he doesn't mind Shurmur calling him out.

"Coach likes to coach me hard because he knows I'll respond well to it," said Little.

But good friend Cribbs thinks Little should pick his spots with the Bolt.

"There's nothing wrong with it, but you have to know where you're at," said Cribbs. "I'd advise him to make more plays, then do it."
It is a positive sign that Little is taking the constructive criticism and putting in extra work after practice to working on his pass catching skills.

Traded him in Dynasty PPR for Dwayne Allen and a 3rd round rookie pick. Really wanted him to make it but I just don't see it.

If you don't have good hands, you're not going to start getting them.

I never understood why people think that practice will somehow make someone without good hands, all of a sudden get them. I mean, good for him for trying, but JUGS or whatever isn't going to make his hands softer. Can't teach speed. Can't teach hands either.

He is still getting targets mainly b/c nobody else can catch it. A lot of it is reputation. His first drop I don't think he stays in bounds if he catches it and that last play would have been a great catch. Yes, he gets more flak since he drops the easy ones but as an owner, I'll probably hold on as long as he keeps the targets up.

This guy does not have the hands of a pro WR at this point in his career. The guy is a physical talent, but he isn't there yet.

He'll pan out if the Browns don't give up on him. Problem is that there will definitely a lot of growing pains along the way and Shurmur's job isn't exactly secure. Not sure how much leash Little will have from this staff.

It's a confidence and awareness thing right now. Nice to see Weeden kept going back to him though, especially last play of the game even though it was overthrown.

It goes a lot further than confidence and awareness. If it were just one or two problems they'd be correctable. There's several, so by the time they're fixed he'll be on a different team. Or out of the league.
