Greg Olsen (1 Viewer)

In the past two games Olsen went 1-7. The two previous games he went 9-95. It's not like St. Louis and Minnesota have been shutting down the opposing TE; granted both games were away.

What's changed in the past 2 weeks? Dez Clark entered the last game against Minn as questionable and went 1-9. Only 2 receptions for the TE position last week? I thought TE was one of the more prominent positions on Chicago's O and I expected more from Olsen with Dez's injury concern.

After his games against Tenn and at GB I was getting excited about using him at home for the last 3 games against Jax, NO and GB. Now I feel that I need to rethink my TE strategy.

Replies are appreciated.

The clock struck midnight and Kyle Orton turned into Kyle Orton again.
:lmao: That's what it's looked like. Now I'm stuck without a serviceable TE.
I'm lucky as there are some good TE options still on the WW in my league so I'm cutting bait with Olsen this week. Like the OP, I had high hopes for him in the stretch run but Orton is just killing him. The biggest problem is Orton isn't even looking for Olsen anymore (only one target in the last two games combined). Olsen is certainly talented enough to rebound and finish strong but I can't take that chance. The Bears (other than Forte) are a mess offensively and Forte is the only Bear I'd feel comfortable starting at this point.

Its also the play calling that sucks. When Orton does go his way, the passes arent even close to being catchable. Luckily I picked up Carlson.

yeah, it's puzzling to me too. I also thought he looked good going down the stretch. now I think he's just "going down" to the pine.

donald lee seems like a decent option this week. he's done pretty well at home, and olsen has been doing nothing.

I did not see the game.

I would guess that he was kept in to block with Minny's great D-line.

I watched most of the first half of the Chi-Min game and it was clear that the DB's were covering Olsen as if he were WR#1 target. The announcers even mentioned it that a CB on a TE might appear crazy, but who else will Orton target? Minn Def Game Plan was to limit Forte and take away Olsen. From the game I watched, they did just that. Olsen had a few early targets that were well defended.

Thanks for the infoOlson should have been able to use his size and strength to his advantage. Get that guy some Ben Coates tapes to watch.Rashied should do better against a nickelback then too.

:hey: This is exactly it. The Vikes were in a nickel set on 1st downs. If you remember in the first meeting this year Olsen was 6-74 with a TD. I remember Michaels commenting on that very thing.
