Gregg Williams set to join Titans staff (1 Viewer)

AFC South offensive players... protect those knees!

Before Gregg Williams can return to the NFL, he needs a team to hire him, and then he needs the NFL to end his suspension. He’s close to taking the first of those two steps.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Williams, who is currently serving an indefinite suspension for orchestrating the Saints’ bounty program, has already met with the Titans and is close to accepting a deal to become their assistant head coach.

According to Schefter, Williams could be reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell before the Super Bowl, which would allow him to get to work once his contract with the Titans is finalized.

If the deal gets done and Goodell gives his OK, Williams would be reunited with Titans head coach Mike Munchak, whom he worked with on the Titans’ staff from 1997 to 2000. And if Goodell reinstates Williams within the next week, all of the punishments for the Saints’ bounty case will have been completed before New Orleans hosts the Super Bowl.

I guess that was indefinitely. Goodell really came out looking like a turd all the way around in Bountygate, a black eye on his resume for sure.

G Williams is a total d-bag. He should be out of the league for life.
Not sure why if he did his "time", why he can't come back? Bountygate was a slap on the wrist compared to this; a scandal that "could" have altered a Super Bowl result (I am not going to speculate either way). I don't think he is a very reputable guy after all of this, but this isn't the worst offense on or off the field by a player or coach (at least in my opinion, and no one had a worse punishment than Williams.I am more surprised by (1) how quickly a team wanted him and (2) for the high-level role (I thought when he did come back, he would be relegated to a DB coach role or something). To me, it shows that it is not as much of a black mark on his resume in the eyes of the teams.

Did his "time"? Are you ####### kidding me? He was suspended indefinitely. That shouldn't mean a ####### year - it should mean a long ####### time. He's a complete piece of #### and deserves to be tossed down with the sodommites.

By now we all know that if you can help a team win, past crimes don't matter.
