Grinding Tape With Chad Spann and Matt Waldman (1 Viewer)

Matt briefly noted his extended Q&A breaking down running plays and talking RB concepts with Chad Spann in his RSP thread above, but I think his recent blog posts deserve more attention and discussion.

Part 1 -- Two running plays broken down (with diagrams), plus discussion on footwork and what a RB reads pre- and post-snap.

Part 2 -- Three more plays broken down, plus discussion about ball security and finishing runs after contact

This is one of the best conceived and presented discussions of what a running back is thinking as a play develops I've seen on the web. I'm pulling for Spann to make the most of whatever UDFA opportunity he gets, but he's clearly got the ability to teach, coach and probably write about football after his NFL career is over.

Looking forward to the next installments.
