Guilty pleasure film (1 Viewer)

Clash of the Titans, 1981

The Beastmaster, 1982

Pee-wee's Big Adventure, 1985
Pee Wee is pride, not guilt.

This guy gets guilt.

I'm still waiting on the third part of Costner's post apocalyptic trilogy to follow up the genius bag over headedness of Waterworld and The Postman...both of which I   and :bag:

noticed we had HBO and cinemax for the weekend, and this was on.  Recorded it.  It's good to watch with the young uns, right?

How young? There's one scene where an older dude tries to attack his step daughter. The women basically wear lingerie the whole movie and try to seduce a couple guys.

Welcome to THE ROCK.  I seriously love that movie.

Quigley is fantastic as well, good choice there.  Great score too in both of these films.

That song always reminds me of the dance scene in Meatballs.

I refuse to list that movie down as a guilty pleasure though - just a pleasure.

Yeah, sad how Edward Furlong went  from a great turn in American History X to that travesty.
Jam: It's a teenage girl walking along the side of the highway. I mean, they, they, they make scary movies that start out like that.
Trip: Hey, but, but they make porno movies that start out like that too, man.”

You may want to rethink your definition of the word travesty.

Gotta go with Youngblood, from 1986.

Rob Lowe pretending to be a hockey player, check.

Patrick Swayze being dreamy, check.

Keanu Reeves as a goalie, check.

Racki!  Check.

...and most importantly, Cynthia Gibb
And Peter Zezel!!!

Exactly!  They are naming great movies that no one should feel ashamed to say they like.

Let's stick to movies where you would change the channel if a group of your friends showed up at your door.  Like all the Ernest movies.

Bloodsport and Kickboxer (Van Damme)

Hard to Kill, Marked for Death (Seagal)

First Blood and Cobra (Stallone)

Commando (Schwarzenegger)

Love those made for HBO movies for years

Barbarians at the Gate

And the band played on

Live from Baghdad

Recount

Game change

Unless you didn't want them to stay. Then they are watching them all.

Barfly just makes me feel special.

"Get a job Henry!"

"Hey, I got a job. Killing the ####-a-roaches in my apt!"

-----------------------

“- Tully: Why did you send your stuff to us?
- Henry: Well, I liked the title of the mag. It boggled my scrotum.”

barfly's one of my faves. no guilt, just appreciation.

and probably my post-caddy shack and spinal tap go-to for quotes. love the movie.

Some younger people don't watch black-and-white flicks but if you want one then this fits.

Sheena (1984)

Lots and lots and lots of neck'd Tanya Roberts.  Gotta love it.
ooooh... that one fits.

I just imagine these picks as movies your embarrassed to admit liking around decent company.

battlefield earth, mentioned upthread, is perfect for me. it's just terrible- truly awful. so bad, I think most of the people involved in it not named travolta just gave up on it early on and it turned into pure awful hilarious camp. but I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic stuff... suffered through too many seasons of the walking dead and will give most anything a go. love that movie.

somebody else posted staying alive, the saturday night fever sequel; now that's some guilt for liking.

caddyshack 2 as well... but I don't think anybody actually likes that one, guiltily or not.

For sure.  Like what you like.

For the interest of the spirit of the thread, I would say I have a surprising soft spot for cheesey rom-coms and "high school" movies.  Examples: cant hardly wait, Varsity Blues, etc.

Sense and Sensibility

The Greatest Game Ever Played (watched it again yesterday)

French Postcards
