Guy stands in the middle of the Wall of Death (2 Viewers)

Okay- I have college aged boys. One is a musician, so I have been out there at band fests and seen some of this. I've found myself ending up serving as a human bumper, protecting these human projectiles from things like walls, stools and bar/table corners. :bowtie:

I've seen what look like forming mini-walls of death: guys will start pawing the floor like bulls before a charge. They scope out and make eye contact with another guy... and then charge each other seemingly hell bent on knocking the other guy to kingdom come. Should one of them hit the floor, the other guy invariably offers a hand and pulls him up. What up that?

Also- I have seen what I call snipers. The lame ###es float around the perimeter of the craziness and instead of taking anyone on directly they hit people as they go by and then bounce of in another direction to avoid retribution. I've almost taken a swipe at these guys myself. :hot:

Is there an insiders name for these losers??
WUSSIES. Change the W to a P.
:lmao: I don't know what I was expecting...
My favorite thing to do with those guys is after they've taken a few pot shots at people and a few people have recognized them doing so, I maneuver so that they're between me and the pit. When a mellower part of a song leading up to a ferocious part is being played, I get into position right behind them and as soon as the mosh riff comes in, I shove them right into the middle of the pit as hard as I can. Usually, they'll sprint across to the other side as quickly as they can, but every now and again, someone gets a really good lick on them. I'd like to think I've helped "reform" dozens of what you call snipers.
Perfect.

On a thinly-related note, I was watching

, and one of them mentioned the term "death cult." Which, of course, reminds me of Dimmu Borgir's Death Cult Armageddon. That's all.

I love how Sick of it All still kicks ###!Pretty sure the last time I saw them was in '96 or '97 too.
I saw them open for Slayer, and the crowd was not very nice.
Thats the problem. They should not be opening for Slayer. They should be the headliners of places like The Troc (Jaysus >Hey) and smaller clubs. Its not like they are going to find mainstream success at this point so dont forget the struggle, dont forget the streets and dont sell out and dont forget your roots

You'd take out a really good % of our future scientists and computer experts. You're better off bombing a Garth Brooks show. Or a Joel Osteen appearance.
Ohhhh so close. I'm sorry but the correct answer was "an Insane Clown Posse show".
Charlie : I'd like to introduce you to my protégé Ritchie. Ritchie, these are the guys.Ritchie : Oh.Charlie : Say hello.Ritchie : What up? Juggalo for life.Mac : What the hell is he talking about?Charlie : Drop it with the whole juggalo thing.Ritchie : Nah, I'm cool.Charlie: You're embarrassing me.

Really just looking for a reason to bump this thread and since EG used a Lamb of God video to demonstrate a Wall of Death, it seems fitting. Apparently LOG's lead singer is up on manslaughter charges due to incidents that happened during a show.

It's absolutely insane. The people who are ultimately going to get hurt here are foreign fans because U.S. bands are going to stop going to play overseas if they're subject to this kind of BS.

Anyone see the recent video where the lead singer of LoG gets KTFO? It was hilarious. I know nothing about the band but he seems like a little ########.

You won't get much in the way of melody and harmony, but there's a power inherent in this kind of music that exists in no other. There's no way to describe the feeling of release at a show like this if you're into that kind of music - it's like a drug.
I would have to on some pretty powerful drugs for me to enjoy that.

what the sam hell is the point of thatseriously, i want to be in a metal band where my shtick is my fans have to punch themselves in the balls till they pass outBALLS OF DEATH!!!and the whole crowd just starts whaling on their own ####
:lmao:

Went to a local show this past week.... second song by the very first band a slam dancer nailed me in the crotch, three inches lower and he would have destroyed my jewels and I'd still be laying there in the fetal position.

So, what exactly is the difference between this "wall of death" and the mosh pits that I used to frequent back in the mid-to-late 90's at Pantera and Korn shows?

Pantera was definitely the best pit I have been in... :) great slam music.

Lamb Of God tour canceled as singer remains in Czech jail

With Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe still in a Prague jail and facing manslaughter charges, the band's upcoming tour with cartoon metal band Dethklok and non-cartoon metal band Gojira has been cancelled. The tour was scheduled to kick off Aug. 1 in Seattle. A statement released by the band says, "The uncertainty of Randy's release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour. Upon Randy's release, it is the band's intention to rebook a tour in the fall." Point-of-purchase refunds are being offered to anyone who bought tickets to the dates.

Blythe has been in jail for about a month now, after he was arrested while on tour in Europe. The charges stem from an incident at a 2010 concert where he pushed a fan off the stage, causing him to fall on his head and later die. While Blythe's bail has been set at $400,000, the prosecution is challenging the ruling, meaning he has to stay behind bars for a little longer. Meanwhile, Lamb Of God is soliciting donations for his defense.

This is horse poop. They set bail, he paid, stayed in jail. They doubled it, he paid, still in jail. Sounds like a money grab to me.

PRAGUE (AP) – The frontman of Virginia-based heavy metal band Lamb of God has been released on $400,000 bail from a Prague prison, several weeks after his arrest in connection with a fan's death in 2010, a court official said Friday.

Randy Blythe, 41, was arrested on June 27 and is being investigated for bodily harm resulting in death.

His Czech lawyer, Martin Radvan, said Blythe left Prague for the United States on Friday, a day after his release.

Radvan said that police believe that during a 2010 concert in Prague an audience member climbed onto the stage and Blythe pushed him off. The fan hit the floor with his head and later died of the injuries, police said.

Blythe said he was not aware of what had happened to the fan at Prague's Abaton club and was surprised to be arrested when he returned to the Czech Republic to play another show scheduled on June 28, said Radvan.

"We don't know yet if (the death) was caused by our client or in a different way," the lawyer said. The police investigation is unlikely to be completed until winter, he said.

Martina Lhotakova, a spokeswoman for Prague's Municipal Court, said Blythe was released Thursday when the court upheld a lower court decision that had rejected a request by prosecutors to keep Blythe in custody.

The prosecutors argued that Blythe could leave the country and never return.

If I'm him, I'm never going back there again.

B-Deep, just FYI, that video you posted earlier is the same fan, but he was back up on stage later in that same show and it was the security guard that shoved him back the second time, Blythe never touched him on the push that ultimately resulted in the kid's death. Either way, these charges are nuts.

I doubt he ever goes back. Quite frankly giving him bail was stupid if they really wanted to try him on this.

Back on the original topic...

I went to see POD a couple of months back. I saw these walls of death. In fact, since it was an all ages show taking place in a bar/club, I saw two of them. (There was a barrier down the middle of old church pews to keep the underage kids away from the bar.) Let's just say that as a middle aged man who was at the time 6'2" and 275 pounds, I wanted nothing to do with those. It looked like fun though.

Is there a cooler thing that can happen to the singer of a death metal band than to be locked up in an Czech prison?

Read Randy's statement yesterday, said he will return to the Czech Republic to stand trial if summoned to do so.

Excerpted :

"I would like state that I suffered no abuse, from either authorities or inmates, during my incarceration in Pankrác. I received no special treatment, and was in general population with everyone else -- make no mistake, it was prison, not some celebrity rehab TV show. But I was treated fairly by the guards and kindly by my fellow inmates. People are dying of starvation all over the world. Men and women are losing their lives daily in the Middle East and other war torn regions. I had food, clothes, shelter, and no one was trying to kill me. I cannot complain over a short stay in prison while many people elsewhere fight to survive on a daily basis."

"While I maintain my innocence 100%, and will do so steadfastly, I will NOT hide in the United States, safe from extradition and possible prosecution. As I write this, the family of a fan of my band suffers through the indescribably tragic loss of their child. They have to deal with constantly varying media reports about the circumstances surrounding his death."

"I am charged with maliciously causing severe bodily harm to this young man, resulting in his death. While I consider the charge leveled against me ludicrous and without qualification, my opinion makes no difference in this matter. The charge exists, and for the family of this young man, questions remain. The worst possible pain remains. It is fairly common knowledge amongst fans of my band that I once lost a child as well. I, unfortunately, am intimately familiar with what their pain is like. Therefore, I know all too well that in their time of grief, this family needs and deserves some real answers, not a media explosion followed by the accused killer of their son hiding like a coward thousands of miles away while they suffer."

Wow. No fan of that type of music but I have some serious respect for writing that statement. Most would have whined about treatment, rights infringement, etc. but he really took the high road. Awesome.

Met and chatted with Randy two days ago. Really, really great guy. I've met a lot of famous people and Blythe was maybe the most gracious and genuine. I broke off the conversation at one point and gave him an out so as not to be a pest and he re-engaged. Was genuinely interested in hearing what I had to say rather than just humoring me to be nice.Just figured I'd post it here since I wanted an excuse to read this thread again. So much funny stuff in here.
