Goodbye to 2021, and Happy New Year to all of you.

Two years of pain. Of suffering. Of the unknown. Of division. Of social discourse.

Time to be better. In your home. In your community. In this community.

It's time to move forward. It's time to be positive for our friends, our adversaries, and our families. It's time to come together and give a damn again. It's time to think beyond ourselves and find a common ground despite differences.  It's time to be respectful.

There are good people out there everywhere. We see it day by day in our real world lives and not played out behind a screen and keyboard.

Those good people are what I'm going to focus on in 2022. I'm going to focus on my family. How to be a better dad. And husband. And friend. And community member.

I vow to be more positive this year.

I hope all of you have the year you want. Good health and prosperity for you and your families. Love to all of you guys and gals who have made this place a great place.

amen 2021 was an epic crap show for me lost my best fishing buddy early in the year to msa then lost a lifelong buddy in the spring lost my dad in august had back injections on october and back surgery in december and just for the heck of it the big kauhuna said here get you some covid to finish it up i dont have a lot to say about 2021 that is good so lets get on to 2022 and take it to the bank next year brohans

For 2022, be as real as you can, y'all, as thoughtful and kind as you can, as outside yourself and aware as you can. We need to stem the tide on willful oblivion, for we are pollutiing the national soul as much as its air & waters.

And please know that you can't "master" your way out of misery. No smartmedia, sous vides, vicarious parenting can sufficiently cover disconnected, unengaged lives. Know the beauty of humility, that the give is the get. Live, love, laugh, leave it better than you found it.
