Truth be told, I didn't think he had a game like that in him.
With that said, including yesterday - the Panthers have sacked the QB twice and their problems at the S position have been well documented.
As someone who was at the game, however, I was impressed with Harrington's toughness and willingness not only to stand in the pocket but let the plays develop downfield.
Another thing to be cognizant of as it relates to the Falcons offense is that their run pass ratio is 72/110 - essentially a 40/60 split. And while many might attribute that to their 0-3 record and playing from behind - truth is, they've been in every single game pretty much for the whole time (with the exception of the last 5 minutes in Minnesota). So we're starting to get a sense of how Petrino is going to move the ball and it's going to be via Harrington's arm.
I can't tell you if he'll be consistent, but what he did do this past week was take the criticism directed at him via his HC and show improvement in those very areas. One other thing that won't show up in the boxscore, but I thought was crucial in establishing himself as a leader was a 2 play sequence.
Play 1: Quick out pattern to Michael Jenkins. Hits him right in the hands - he drops it.
Next play: Finds Jenkins streaking down the middle of the field. Much more difficult catch as he knows he's going to get hit, but he makes it.
Small, but significant step in making this his team, if he's going to do so.
