Has Montgomery overtaken Jacobs as # 1 rookie RB (1 Viewer)

I'm beginning to wonder if the Nagy factor isn't being (vastly) overrated in FF circles.

Dreams of Nagy using Trey Burton as a Kelce-light in Chicago is what led to him being way overdrafted last year.  Hunt's usage was just as high when Nagy was out of town as it was when Nagy was the OC.  Likewise, Nagy failed to get half out of Mitch Trubisky as "he" got out of Alex Smith the year before.

Kelce, Hunt, Smith.  I think all of those guys may have had a lot more to do with Andy Reid than they did with Nagy.  Reid, not Nagy, is certainly the consistent variable in the success of TE/RB/QBs the last few years.
In terms of this thread's debate, for me personally, it's more of a Gruden factor than Nagy factor. I expect Nagy to run a competent offense, nothing revolutionary. I expect Gruden to run a crappy offense, dragging all fantasy players down. I also expect Montgomery and Jacobs to have similar workloads (and I view them as similar talents), so naturally I prefer the less inept offense.

Pretty sure Andy Reid has always called the plays for the offense.
Kareem Hunt’s usage was also far better in 2017 when Nagy was calling the team’s plays. Excluding Week 17, Hunt averaged 21.3 expected fantasy points per game in the four regular season games Nagy was the playcaller, but only 13.5 during his first 11 games when Reid was calling plays. Hunt has been a common comp for Montgomery, even before he was drafted by Chicago. And, keep in mind, Reid’s RB1 resume is the most attractive among active playcallers.
