Hasselbeck Eval (1 Viewer)

Curious to see who played him this week like me thinking that 4 WR's would be safe vs CHI w/out Alexander and curious to see who you're using or picking up for SEA's week 5 bye.

I went against FBG rankings and played him this week :wall: bad move on my part. I guess I thought that the WR's were clicking last week and that it would continue this week even without Alexander and up against a tough CHI DEF in CHI. Too many things going against the grain there in hindsight.

So should this Hasselbeck performance be attributed more to a road game in CHI or the loss of Alexander?

Next week is the bye and I don't have a backup QB so I'm leaning toward picking up Drew Brees based on his consistent performance and neutral week 5 matchup. Brad Johnson is also out there and has a good matchup and Leftwich is another option but since JAX favors the run I'm going with Brees.

Anybody else in my boat?

Brees is the #8 overall QB in scoring in our league...the top WW pickup at QB in our league would be Charlie Frye (10 team, must roster exactly 2 QBs, start 1). Of course most of my league mates live in Austin, where Drew went to HS (a couple were classmates at WestLake High School with Drew), so Drew is always a bit overrated on draft day...but always drafted.

I started Kitna instead this week and quite happy to have done so. I saw Chicago play twice before yesterday's game and thier defence made me nervous. In addition the Sehawks anemic running game so far this year led me to believe that Chicago would concentrate on stopping the pass and dare the running game to beat them.

That said he's still my starter and will most likley be so for the rest of the year.

Hass will be fine - Chicago D at home is a tough spot. I got him this year primarily because of his FF playoff schedule:

Week 14 ARZ

Week 15 SF

Those should be monster games.

I played High School ball with Drew. State Champs 1996.

I know I'm not in your league, because all of mine are 12-teamers.

In one league I played Frye and left Hass on the bench...in another league I drafted Hass and Brad Johnson(I played Hass this week) and brad was drafted for his week 5 matchup

understandable, I was pretty gunshy of him this year due to his shoulder injury and his reputation for not being a strong thrower in the first place. Add to that a new team, coach, OFF coordinator, system???, no Gates or LT and the fact that IT'S NEW ORLEANS and they suck (typically) and it didn't look too promising. However, things are looking pretty good so far, they've actually been competitive (3-1) and Colston has been very good, McCallister is healthy (shocker), Bush adds a nice dimension and the DEF on MNF was ROCKIN.

Schedule looks good in terms of a lack of tough games and three easy game (week 6 vs PHI, week 13 vs SF, week 16 @ NYG).

Love his playoff schedule....if I get there!

Starting Hass/D JAx likely cost me this weeksd game - should have played the matchup but how do you sit a guy coming off a 5 TD game!

SA makes a big difference - he takes away shorter TDs but opens up the passing game big time. Hope he comes back soon!

I have Penny (Jax) and Rivers (Den) as backups - both have terrible matchups but what can you do! Hee's hoping for a Hass bounce back after the bye!
