Hasselbeck, Vince Young, Schaub, or Aaron Rogers (1 Viewer)

I think Hasselbeck is a little higher rated....but Schaub could be great this year!! I do live in Houston....is my heart interfering with my brain?!

Would anyone grab Rivers or Eli or these guys...surely not!!

Hasselbeck. Just outside of Palmer and if you can get him a couple rounds later he's a great deal. He's a no brainer here.

Yes, he lost Engram but someone else will step up. They are going to pass a ton this year. And besides I know Engram is decent but it is still just Bobby friggin Engram --- its not like he lost Reggie Wayne or something.

Hmmm, a no brainer. Even with Schaub having another year "in the system" and a (hopefully) healthy A Johnson all year!! I do like Hasselbeck....but can't get over this feeling that Schaub is in for the bigger year!

I think Schaub for sure. His only real knock is injury, but if that happens, plug in Sage who is capable of carrying the team. Look at the options around him (including Owen Daniels and the underrated Kevin Walters!). And the RB game should do better with Alex Gibbs, which I believe helps the QB in the long run.

I think Aaron Rogers is close because they'll be running 4 WR sets (with a lot of talent out there, plus Donald Lee, plus great RB play), but if he fails from the pressure or is hurt (which are very real possibilities), you're screwed. I'd think Rivers after that, especially with his gained experience in the Norv system and the upgrade with Chambers at WR (not to mention the dump offs to LT and Gates).

As for the others, sadly, VY looks like he'll never be a top NFL QB and Hasselbeck will be throwing to less talented WRs for a large part of the year.

And Deion Branch. And DJ Hackett.

This question is, of course, hypothetically speaking, right?

ETA--Hypothetically, what's the scoring?

Let me clarify a little. If you are absolutely sure that you need a quarterback RIGHT NOW! and are going to pick one RIGHT NOW! then maybe Hasslebeck is your guy based on last years numbers and his offensive system. He could very well outscore each of the other guys straight up. But remember that there are a ton of question marks with him (losing his best three receivers from last year for a portion of the season, their team signing two RBs in the offseason is an obvious sign that they will run more, Hasslebeck has not exactly being a consistent performer from year to year).

So, my point is, pass on Hass as your QB in this early round and take someone good at another position instead. The other QBs you metioned (Schaub for example) will give you great value later on. When looking back at the end of the year, even if Hass outscores Schaub straight up, the better bet is that Schaub PLUS the WR/RB/TE you took in the early round (instead of Hass) will outscore Hass PLUS the later round WR/RB/TE you take instead of Schaub (based on most fantasy league's QB scoring systems).

I would say Rodgers he has more talent around him than any of these guys and he will put up the points as guys will make plays for him.

Shaub would be next on my list since this team is moving up and if Johnson can stay healthy this team should be better than last year on offense.

Hasselbeck 3rd just because he is going to have to throw the ball more than young and has at least on decent WR in Burleson while VY has very little talent to catch the ball.
