Hasselbeck? (1 Viewer)

No real weapons around him, constantly pressured, throwing multiple picks? Not really sure if he is a viable guy the rest of the way, FBG's is still ranking him pretty high, but not sure what they are basing it on, hopefully not Krob and Colbert..

Anyone else cutting their losses now?

I just traded for him. Dante Rosario straight up for him. Pure keeper league. Guy is on my team till I cut/trade him or he dies. I like him as a backup to Romo

they're basing it on the fact that he's a very good QB and he should get some of his weapons back at some point during the season. Their receiving situation is really as bad as I can remember especially so early in the year. He'll have tough games over the next few weeks but should get better as he has time to practice with his wr's and some of the guys start to get healthy. I can't blame people for cutting him and picking someone else up but in a few weeks he'll end up being a hot pickup.

:wolf: Week 8 on he should be an OK starter when the troops come back

Yeah, I thought that was a good trade for you as a QB2. I had him behind Garrard and Schaub and I really needed a young TE. Should work out for both of us.

Picks are a result of bad WRs. Hes getting WRs back after bye. You obviously dont know much about the situation.

Classic buy low IMO. There are some salty matchups in the 2nd half of the season, and I dont think Julius/MoMo will have them gameplanning to run the ball.

I am holding.. and I imagine most drafted him to use in just such a manner, in the 2nd half of the season.

This week I am benching him in favor of O'Sullivan vs. Detroit. I'll hold onto him for the year, unless I upgrade via trade (trying to get Peyton or Cutler right now).

Anyone who drafted him later, hoping to have him as a starter likely can't wait that long

Exactly. I am giddy to have the guy for my QB2. I have a pile of young TE's with upside (Fasano, Lee, Daniels). And with Garcia, Henne and Moore backing up Romo, I really need a guy that is just solid more than anything. I'm not as concerned if he can carry me to the SB if Romo goes down. I'm wanting a guy I know is going to start when Romo is on bye. Garcia wasn't that guy. I could've possibly waited on Henne, but that's a long shot. And in a pure keeper, I figure he's got a few years left. They have to address the WR position in the offseason. I know Roy Williams wants to go to Dallas but what if Seattle offers him a bunch of money and says, "you don't like being second fiddle to TO and you get to play the Rams, 49ers, and Cardinals 6 times a year." That is going to be pretty enticing for any FA WR this offseason.

I agree he's a great Buy Low candidate. He's on the WW in my start-2 QB league and I'm giving serious consideration to dropping Garrard and picking him up.

If you have a spot to stash him away, you should hold on to him. Engram/Branch should be back after the bye next week and Krob/Colbert should be more comfortable by then. Judging by yesterday's moves, Seattle is willing to do something about their situation. Maybe they make another trade. Still some disgruntled wide outs around as others have rumored about. No way I would drop him before week 8/9 to see how it all pans out.

It really was a great fit, wasn't it? You have a young stud QB and need a more vet backup and you have a lot of young, upside TEs. I have two young very good QBs and just Gonzalez at TE. :pickle:I do think that Hass will have some value going forward. In a redraft I would hang on as long as I had a decent #1. In dynasty I would wait for a really good game and then maybe sell him to someone who wants to win now for a good young prospect.

Dante Rosario? :pickle: You got the steal of the year...especially in a keeper.

I just made this exact move in a league and I am quite comfortable with it (also have Shaub, so it would be a matchup play anyway). He has a few pretty nice matchups, this week included. And depending on how he does this week, he plays SL again in the playoffs, so he may very well be worth keeping around.

LOL, I disagree. In terms of dynasty team makeup, Rosario is much more valuable to me than Hasselbeck.

I cut bait with Hass. My first QB is D. Anderson.....I cut Hass for Schaub and feel great about it. Actually added a 3rd QB in O'Sullivan.

Funny if you look at Schaub and O'Sullivan you can find a juicy matchup just about every week the rest of the season by alternating.
