Have statistics ever been changed after a season is over? (1 Viewer)

Liquid Tension

It seems like there are more statistical changes than there have been in the past and our league is trying to decide when a game becomes final. I would like to have the opinions of the folks here on when a game should be complete and then ask the question about stats that have changed a few weeks after or after a year is over. I remember some sacks being changed after a year and vaguely remember some others, but I may be incorrect on this...help

If you have any info on stats being changed much after a game, please pass on the story

Thanks

Obviously it's up to each league to decide when their weekly results are final, but the league I'm in chooses not to make the results "final & official" for any given week until we've applied the corrections we find at this link. It's pretty easy for us to apply any corrections though, because ours is a "rotisserie style" league instead of a head-to-head league.

We use Sportsline's standard. I think that if it is changed before Thursday of THAT week it will be accepted. As far as changes after the season, the most glaring one that I can remember is Mercury Morris in 1972. "That year he ran for exactly 1,000 yds on 190 carries[2], becoming, with teammate Larry Csonka, the first 1,000-yard tandem in NFL history. Morris was first thought to have finished with 991 yards, but the Dolphins asked the league to examine a play in which Morris fumbled a lateral. Morris was awarded the nine yards previously scored as lost on the play, giving him 1,000 yards for the season."(The quoted area is taken from Wikipedia.)
