He's down All Pro WR and another Pro Bowl level WR so the offense isn't flowing like it should be which puts a lot of stress on his defense

Firstly, I don't think Pederson should have been fired.

The biggest takeaway from Jalen Hurts’ presser yesterday was his answer when asked about whether he and Nick were discussing what went wrong. He answered: “We have our moments”.
Imagine somebody asks you how things are going with your wife. ‘We have our moments’ means you’re sleeping on the couch.
Bottom line is if Nick has lost the locker room, he should be fired today. And guaranteed, Lurie and Howie are talking to players and people in the org to see if that’s the case.
The personnel isn’t great. The coaching staff isn’t getting the personnel to live up to their potential. The situation of having a Head Coach that had his teeth pulled in the offseason by hiring outside coordinators is Lurie/Howie’s mess.

This is kind of playing out like Doug.
Lurie hires guy who wasn't high on the HC candidate pecking order because he won't object to front office control.
Year 1, exceeds expectations.
Year 2, goes to Super Bowl.
Year 3, coordinator(s) leave and team regresses but still makes playoffs.
Year 4, regression continues and it appears Super Bowl season was an outlier for coach and QB.
For Doug, the bottom fell out in year 5 and he was fired at the end of it (and the QB was replaced). Since he didn't win his Super Bowl, does Nick even get to year 5 if the team plays more games like today's?
ETA: Luckily it did not happen this way!

Here in Philly its a foregone conclusion. Doug was zipped when he pushed back on Howie and Jeff wanting to replace his coordinators. Nick knows what his role is here.
Give up play calling duties almost immediately even though you were supposed to be a playcalling HC? Done
Bring in pencil-boy to be a "defensive consultant" and then fire your DC after one loss only to replace him with pencil boy? Done
Hire two coordinators that were handed to you and basically relegate yourself to "CEO" head coach (whatever the **** that means)? Done
I think he actually has the respect of his players-if you listen to them on the local shows, they truly seem willing to run through a wall for the guy. I thought he should have been fired at the end of last year's abortion of a season. I think he should be fired now. If they continue to spiral (like if they lose after the bye week) he'll be gone. Jeff has not been afraid to zip guys as soon as he felt their time was up- I'm looking at you Chip.
Belicheck 2.0 era beginning soon.
Belichick has been tagged to the entire NFC East sans Washington.
That means if he coaches next year it'll be in Jacksonville

lol, maybe. Its been said in the past that Lurie modeled his brand of ownership and the franchise after the Patriots. Under normal circumstances I don't think BB would come here with the heavy handed oversight that comes down from Lurie and Howie. But he just wants the Wins record. He can rip off 15 or 16 wins or whatever he needs to get the record, over the next two years with this team, no doubt.

Eagles are one (EASY!) dropped pass from 3-1, and this conversation doesn't even start. There are warts, but it seems premature to even be talking about it. Finish with 7 wins and look like that team in TB yesterday through much of it, and maybe it happens. Lurie isn't THAT quick to make changes, especially if the guy still seems to have the support of the players, which Nick does

I agree, he isn't THAT quick, but this ****show has been a long time in the making. I mean, the collapse last year after going 10-1 was the stuff of legends. And not for nothing, but if Fangio's defense doesn't play damn near lights out weeks 1 and 3, we're 0-4 just as easily.
Heck using that talking point the Giants are a rostered kicker and dropped pass away from being 3-1

Thanks. I think that's really interesting for two reasons.
The "hire a coach that will do what the front office says" is one of the biggest complaints I hear about Dallas. Yet Lurie seems to skate on this. Maybe a Super Bowl changes that.
The last guy I can think of that would be a "do what the front office says" coach is Bill Belichick who I keep hearing there.
Will be fascinating to see.

Nick Sirianni "the TV show" is better than Nick Sirianni "HC Eagles" IMO. He seems to be really good at being an entertaining personality on the sidelines or in the news cycle, but as far as being a HC in the NFL... I'm not impressed. I have no skin in the game - I'm neither a Philly fan or hater - but it makes my skin crawl how easily he passes up FGs to be the "aggressive analytics-loving dude" in going for every 4th & ???... I hate the "tush push" and I get the feeling his QB hates it even more... and I thought he should have fired his security goon/consigliere after he put hands on an opposing player in an NFL game.
It seemed like the team quit on him last season (epic crash and burn down the stretch). Maybe they were reenergized by their GM bringing Barkley in, but it is starting to stink like 2023 again. Let's face it, they're one bad decision by the Saints DC from being 1-3.

I think the following:
Nick could be clipped this week but probably won't be. However, if they come out against Cleveland like they did against TB and suffer another embarrassing loss, with Nick making dumb decisions IN SPITE of the analytics then I think he'll be gone.
I think the interim HC would be Kellen Moore. Maybe he shows out and secures the job, but I'm honestly not super impressed with him so far. My money would be he doesn't right the ship enough to get the job for real.
I think that in that above scenario, which is very very plausible, yes, Lurie would hire BB. The caveat I keep hearing is that BB would want to go somewhere he could have total control. I just don't buy it. I don't think he wants to build a team from scratch. I think he wants to step into a great situation, spend a couple of seasons stacking the necessary wins to get the record, then leave. Philly would obviously provide that.

The Jerry Jones and Al Davis types get flack because they VISIBLY meddle. They want everyone to know that they are the head honcho and football genius and all of that.
Lurie meddles behind the scenes. We know this from decades of reporting and scuttlebutt. He imposes his will, but he doesn’t cultivate a blowhard persona and he does let Roseman and team president Don Smolenski have a say. He doesn’t make this side of himself public, so it doesn’t get played up in the national media.
So between his mellower public persona and his recent SB, he gets a pass.

There's a bunch of teams sliding around out there, finding their footing. Hurts is 68% for the season, throwing to Dallas Goedert and......some guys, was sacked 10 times in week 1/2, and they just put up 34 points on a really good defense.

I get that Tampa laid an egg against Denver, but they've beaten 3 NFC contenders, they blew two of them out, and went toe to toe with the favorite in the NFC on their field. This all without Winfield, Kancey, and their starting RT. Nobody mentions the injuries Tampa is winning in spite of though.

I get that Tampa laid an egg against Denver, but they've beaten 3 NFC contenders, they blew two of them out, and went toe to toe with the favorite in the NFC on their field. This all without Winfield, Kancey, and their starting RT. Nobody mentions the injuries Tampa is winning in spite of though.
