Heap hurt? (1 Viewer)

According to Sportsline:

Todd Heap, TE BAL

News: Ravens TE Tood Heap (thigh) is listed as questionable for Week 5 at Denver. Heap practiced all week, but did not practice on Friday.

Any homers give us some updates? Is he sliding backwards, or did they hold him out today to rest up?

You can pretty much ignore Billick and his use of the themterm "questionable".
:goodposting: Heap goes on the injury report every freaking week around Thur or Fri... Unless there is specific news regarding a new injury, play Heap. I noticed Winslow is now on the same injury report regimen. Crennel must have had the "injury report Belicekitis" rub off on him. Don't get me wrong, these guys may be dinged up, but Heap has been dinged up for 4 years now.. It takes alot to get him to sit down.. I am not benching him unless I have better options under normal circumstances, which is rare..

Heap burned me last week with that whole swollen ankle bit. I don't buy his injuries anymore. He's good to go. Although, he might break his hand answering the phone...

It seems like every week I keep Heap on the bench because of his injuries, and I start L.J. Smith instead. And every week Heap ends up playing and outscoring Smith!

So to fix this problem I ended up trading away Smith a couple days ago. Now Heap is my only TE and I have to start him every week. Problem solved.

Heap is always injured, but he always plays. I wouldn't be worried - I'm not and I'm a Heap owner.
Fellow Heap owner and I pretty much agree. But, normally he is questionable in the middle of the week and then practices Friday and still plays Sunday. So, this is somwhat opposite. Although, with them having a Monday game I gotta figure he'll play.I don't have a backup for him and I'm actually glad. If I did, I'd be tempted to put him in each time he is questionable and then I'd get burned. Better to have no options.

foolish people that didn't have Westbrook or Green recently :D Seriously, all in all I don't disagree just a bit extreme. A geuinely hurt player could be questionable so...

Billick can bite me. Heap is in my starting roster unless he's listed as doubtful or OUT. And even then, I probably wouldn't get enough production out of a replacement, based on what is out there on waivers in my league, to warrant burning another roster spot on a tight end.

Heap never gets hurt during the games on Sunday.

He just has trouble making it through the week healthy.

his running mate @TE2 on the team, Wilcox, is pretty productive and an option if Heap is a scratch (I'll post anything I hear in the next 48 hrs on this)Wilcox is TE 9 overall, and missed a scoring opportunity on a fumbled shovel pass around the goalline Sunday...he has 2 TD's, vs 3 for Heap...no WR TD's as yet :X

the point is Wilcox WILL help you out, if Heap is indeed a scratch

Per KFFL (take it for what it's worth):

Ravens | Heap added to injury report, will likely play

Fri, 6 Oct 2006 16:09:48 -0700

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens TE Todd Heap (thigh) was added to the team's injury report as questionable Friday, Oct. 6, although he practiced Friday and should be fine to play in Week 5. The injury is one he has had all year, as he has received treatment for it each week. It might limit him more after the catch, but he should be fine in the red zone.

I've got Heap also in one of my leagues. I'm not even carrying a back-up just yet. I've learned from experience with this guy.....he will play through all sorts of pain. He must really be hurt to sit out a game. I don't care if he is on the injury report or not, he is starting for me. I went through this last year also, and never hesitated to play him. Unless of course he was really listed as "out", which I don't think happened at all last year, IIRC.
