Heath Miller (1 Viewer)

I have to wonder about Heath Miller going into this season. He is a fringe starting FF TE, who has ranked around TE#12 in each of his first two seasons and has a #12 FBG pre-season ranking.

However, the Cowher run Steelers are gone, replaced with a more open passing attack and multiple receiver sets. Is it fair to say that this does not bode well for Miller's prospects as a fringe starting FF TE this season?

Although a very small sample, there was not one completion to a Pittsburgh TE in yesterday's Hall of Fame game.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that it's the pre-Season and if the Steelers show their entire range of plays in the new play-book in the first game, then they have no secrets or advantage going into the Season.

Miller eclipses all previous receiving marks this year [personal and team-wise]!

sounds like he is getting some red zone looks in camp

actually it sounds like ben is spreading it around pretty well in the red zone

When they do multiple reciever splits, it is rumored that Miller will be one of the guys split out. Also, I dont know if anyone else noticed but they had Heath at the fullback position.Keep an eye on that.

Yep, way too early to tell. I did see Miller lined up in the "H" back set last night so that could be interesting. Also the Steelers spent a third round pick this year on TE Matt Spaeth, a pretty good receiving TE at Minesota (holds all time record for receptions by a TE).

I have a feeling Miller and Spaeth are going get some targets...
