I was checking out the USF-Pitt game today and noticed how bad the grass field at Heinz Field looked. Apparently they had high school playoff games before the Pitt game on Saturday. The field loked like it was basically dirt between the hashes, especially between the 20's.USF's blog at the St. Pete's Times had this to say before the USF game:

The much-ballyhooed field here at the stadium is pretty rough between the hashes -- just looks like it had four high school games played on it yesterday, the last one an overtime just for good measure. I don't think it'll have a huge impact on the game, but it could make for troublesome footing on field goals.

Heinz Field is hard enough on kickers even without the turf considerations. For the skill position players, I'm wondering if it will make for a slow track.
