I'm just going to go home and ... I don't want to say 'think' about this game. Just re-evaluate tomorrow."
:blackdot: Maybe they'll send 5 guys to beg him to come back this time.

It doesn't look like he'll be re-evaluating what his OC was saying on the sideline: link

If that means what it sounds like it means... hoo boy.I honestly always figured he'd quit at some point this season - whether this is it or not, we'll find out.

Or not...

it is Favre.

I'm no Favre fan, but that quote had nothing to do about thinking about retiring. He was just talking about evaluating the game from this week and last week. Probably don't need to start a thread on it.

I didn't hear the quote so I don't know the context. But the season is lost, Favre is beat up, many fans are clamoring for a QB change, the Sterger story may be getting ready to blow up, Favre had words with the OC on the sidelines today, doesn't get along with the HC, just lost another personal "Favre revenge" game against the Pack...It's not a stretch to guess that perhaps he's reevaluating more than just game tape.

Ah...Fatboy is in every Favre thread and now he starts this. We all know Favre is done and it is fun to watch the haters get their rocks off on it. Favre wasn't talking about retiring tonight and who cares. He is done after the season. He shouldn't have come back but why do the Favre detractors get off ripping on him all the time? Is it because Favre is a 3 time MVP, a future HOF er, and make millions? Seriously, start a Favre hater forum so those guys can get off together.

Really? I think he brought this on hisself, vague about coming back, no training camp with his team. Commit r don't, walk away if not "all-in." :stirspot:

no training camp with his team
He didn't have training camp last year and went to the NFC Championship.

:bs: He made comments in the interview that if he knew that would come up after he said that he would "re-evaluate" his answer.

It probably would have helped this year though, right?

Favre & Childress are killing ADP's ability to take over a game. Fantasy wise its irritating, but as a football fan, its down-right stupid what Favre & Childress do on short yardage situations & within the 5 yd lines with the best RB in the game on your roster. Could Tavaris & any other coach do worse?

I figure what Farve's doing is going home and staying home until they fire Childress. Childress should have been fired long ago, and it has the added bonus of taking attention away from Favre's lousy performance while keeping him in the headlines.

As a Vike fan this is easily the most dysfunctional team we've had in a very long time. The poster who brought up the lame play calling inside the red zone is right on point - AP can literally carry tacklers a few yards at a time but how many drives have ended with Favre trying to force the ball when he shouldn't? Way too many especially in the red zone.

#1 - Childress should have the balls to start TJackson and see what he can do for the rest of the season. But he probably wont. So when the draft comes and a quality Qb is available we'll probably pass on him and regret it.

#2 - Minny is wasting a great talent in AP by sucking up to whatever Favre wants - Ziggy needs to put his foot down and fire Childress asap - and start the rebuilding process now.

#3 - If changes aren't made asap - the players will check out, if they haven't already. Not exactly the way to get a new stadium initiative approved.

Now's the time for Ziggy to show everyone what he's made of.

Probably would've kept Rice and Harvin from being hurt and made the defense better.

Favre was still saying he needed to get his timing down with his receivers several games into the season.Training camp helps a lot with that. But if you think Training Camp wouldn't have helped Favre... well ok then. :lmao:

I don't think its people being a "hater", per se. The reality is that its just a situational story that has been beaten to death, ad naseum. Even the media is tired of talking about it. Last night, even the sports guys were like "this just needs to end...team needs to do the right thing but can't...", another analyst cuts him off and says "Why are we even talking about this? We know its Favre and he gets treated differently. this should be handled differently but wont". So I think its people just saying "please stop this maddness". Its really no different than when 100 people post on whining about all the flags the Steelers get for hits or how the Cowboys suck or anything else. It just seems like more because by the time you have read it here you ahve already seen it on TV all day long.

I'm not a Chill fan (or against him) but I was listening to the fans in Minny yesterday chanting "FIRE CHILDRESS" and I see it here in the forums and I have to ask: "Why is everyone against Chilly?" I mean, this is the same guy that improved your team after Mike Tice. The same guy that got you into the playoffs without Favre (and with the QB that everyone seems to think is just absolutely terrible). Do people really think HE has the ability to sit Brett Favre? That its his call? He's stuck in a no win situaiton. As a coach, to keep a job, you have to win and be competitive and keep your team progressing. It sounds like what I have heard in his interviews that he is saying about all he can say and pointing towards sittign Favre and doing what is best for the long term for the team but because its Favre its a special situation and he can't sit the man with the streak. In this particular situation, only a GM or owner could really step in and do whats right for the team. To me, it doesn't seem like they are willing to do that and may end up ending this year with nothing to show for it and no real idea of what, if anything, they have at the QB position going forward.

Last night I thought for sure Farve was going to use his old routine from five years ago when Green Bay was losing " I am tired, not sure I can prepare to play the game like I am used to anymore" Farve is a great front runner, but when things get tough he gets tired real fast.

If The Vikes only had 2 losses right now Favre would be running around like he just main lined a bottle of Geritol.

Tavaris, yes he could do worse. The only thing he might do is get the coaches to rely on AP. Not sure you can do much worse than Chilly though.

It probably would have helped this year though, right?

Probably would've kept Rice and Harvin from being hurt and made the defense better.

Training camp helps a lot with that.

But if you think Training Camp wouldn't have helped Favre... well ok then. :goodposting:

The Favre not being in training camp the whole time has merit, except for this year. Camarillo was picked up I believe after Favre was already in camp. Berrian was not practicing much of training camp due to injuries and of course Rice was toast before camp started. And lastly, Harvin was having severe migraines/family death issues and many on this board was concerned if he was going to play (due to the migraines). Easy to jump on Favre for not being in camp, but in reality he would not have had any of the receivers there anyway (thus still needing to get his timing several games into the season would be expected).

Secondly, for all the Favre won't use AP because he wants to throw near the end zone believers. Chilly is the one that has AP on the sidelines during these inside the 5 possession. I don't think Favre is moving players on and off the field on his own (although I am sure many of the haters believe that).

Tavaris, yes he could do worse.
They had 3 points yesterday. I don't think the drop off to 2 or 0 points would be much "worse." On the other hand it might just mean they give Peterson appreciably more carries per game, which would definitely be better.Favre made Alex Smith look like a hall of Famer yesterday. He's done and should have retired a Packer for life.
