Hey, new here - WDIS? (1 Viewer)

Really depends on how walkable the city is .. I'm going to need to see flow plans. And your rooster.
Just post your cell here I’ll send the rooster over. You may need to expand the image a bit.

As to walkable cities I’m still fighting that battle! Mostly trying to correct idiots on Reddit who claim my new home of Dallas has no downtown and you can’t move without a car. Also, I get that idiots on Reddit is redundant. And I speak as one, myself.

Good to see Koya
Glad to be back!

What’s new that I need to know?

Sad that we lost another OG in Bogie, kinda out of the blue also.

Who are the new kids around here so I can assert my dominance and go all boomer on them (even if I’m GenX, but we are the new boomers anyhoo, right?)

Theres this young guy named Woz. And another called Zow. Otherwise, all old

Good to see you, koya!

Hows life been?
Overall been good.

Some challenges and tragedies along the way. Stint in rehab (off the weed, and for a while went full sober which was needed).

Now rebuilding and have some good things going on. Day to day not much different (just actually present and stuff!), and living downtown dallas and my walkable life while hating the state and you know, the fascism.

If we are allowed to say that here (I actually say that sincerely. Watch me get a time out day one back)

We've been instructed to report anybody who thinks differently than us.

:reported:

Good to hear you got some stuff sorted, and have some good going on. All any of us can hope for, really. And to not be reported. :oldunsure:

We are now a music and top 100 list forum. But the best one on the internet so we got that going for us.

Glad to hear that.

The forums are still reportedly dying and will soon be dead just as they've been for the past 25 years. And the moderating is still terrible. But I think they still have tons of goodness and lots of good community to offer.

We dropped the political forum a while back and try to keep politics or opinions on government or politicians out of the forum. It sucks but it was untenable when we allowed it. So please help us with that. Thank you.

Hey, 12 team league, but we need to set our lineups by end of today.

Do I start Aaron Rodgers or Shedeur Sanders.

Really don’t know which to go with. Totally shuked.

Will answer yours.

Has anyone new actually signed up since I wandered off into the desert some 8 years ago?

Glad to be back and will play my role in peace. Or in pieces at least.

It is kinda unfair because it was on a Monday (seemed like most of the attractions are closed then) before a lot of return to office, but was surprised how dead it was. Did enjoy checking out that Warren park and had some nice lunch nearby. Always advocating for that type of project here in Charlotte.

The Arts District itself is a quiet node, lodged between Uptown and Downtown. And the vibrancy exists, but it’s also not the east village NYC.

I can say this though - last night I walked 10 min to the historic Main Street downtown neighborhood and it was popping. People everywhere. Great energy.

Can only speak to what I experienced over the last decade - it’s a great walkable vibrant area with some amazing options for food, entertainment, relaxation, and culture.

Can definitely see how on a monday it would feel dead and maybe even sterile. For me, that’s a tranquil day to recover.

Or choose to go to the spots I know that are popping later that evening - a dozen or two at least a walk or 7 buck uber away .

Sup @Koya - good to see you here and not just LinkedIn

Keep fightin' the good fight and perhaps our paths will cross in the development jungle at some point.

Do bots count? Lots of bots.

Lots?

If you see a post that's suspected to be a bot, please report.

We see one or two a week and the posters help us get rid of them. But nothing like lots that I'm aware of.
I was being a bit tongue in cheek. I’ve reported a number myself. But, in the aggregate, if average 1 or 2 per week, and he’s been gone 8 years, I think that would be lots.

Ah ok. I guess over a long time. But it's not really much of a problem. Especially as people are helpful in reporting when they see them. And it may be closer to 1-2 a month.

But if you see them, please let us know. We try really hard to keep this a good place. Thanks.
