Hines Ward (1 Viewer)

Not a WDIS post...

Hines Ward seems to be one of the more frustrating fantasy WR's out there. Expected by many to be a WR2 in PPR coming into the season, he is barely making a case for WR4 status.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the ups & downs? Is he a bench rider (Steve Smith, Car & TJ Housh) or a possible drop now in Dynasty leagues? Or can someone see anything into the matchups & predict WR3 #'s every so often?

as a Steelers fan, this is my take on it

Hines had lost the ability to beat man coverage last season almost entirely. As it is, he has been able to do his thing quite well against zones when the Steelers scheme like mad to get him open. However, he is now very slow and simply unable to get any type of separation. Manny Sanders and Antonio Brown have come on VERY strong and Ben is gaining a great deal of trust in Manny, especially

Honestly? I'd definitely consider dropping Ward. I think he may play 1 more season but that's about it and I don't think he'll be very productive.

Do you think Sanders takes that starting job next season? I was just able to scoop him in a shallow dynasty league and think he could be gold next year. Kind of similar to Maclin and Garcon this season.

Anybody like Sanders tonight? He had 13 targets last week, and Ward is looking old and worn down. Sanders seems to be the possession guy and Big Ben is really starting to trust him more. Obviously, the Steelers will run the ball a ton against Carolina, but if Manny can duplicate his 7/78 which in PPR is about 15 points, I'd be happy to start him.

He is sitting on the waiver wire and my opponent is starting Big Ben. Sneaky play? Is this worth the risk? I'd be able to nuetralize Big Ben's point total.
