Awesome, 'Tez so deserved this. He was voted Most Valuable Defensive player in 1992 on a team that went 2-14. The guy was amazing.Others elected as the 2012 class.
Jack Butler
Dermontti Dawson
Chris Doleman
Cortez Kennedy
Willie Roaf
It's politics, man. Probably some writers with axes to grind with Parcells.Any rational reason why Parcels isn't a first ballot inductee?
Did he ever have a reception that propelled the Vikings into the Super Bowl? Next round of the playoffs? Playoffs? He caught a lot of balls, I am not anti-Carter getting into the HoF but I'm also OK making him wait a little while too.Cris Carter is well deserving of the HOF.

If you're suggesting that Dawson and Roaf aren't deserving you are way off base. Dawson should have been first ballot.I guess I am supposed to trust that a group that does not rubber stamp Parcells, with his 2 Superbowl wins and his former asst. with 6 Superbowl wins, understands the game to game impact of an OL over guys who just catch bunches passes and score lots of TDs.
Sugesting that neither should go in over Parcells or Chris Carter...Honestly, I would place either over Curtis Martin... a long time good to very good, not ever considered at the level at his job that Parcells, Carter, Dawson or Roaf was at his. Too much which writer can present the best case in the process. If you're suggesting that Dawson and Roaf aren't deserving you are way off base. Still can't believe Carter didn't make it again. The HOF is more of a museum of football history than a place for all time greats.

I'm a fan.

I think Martin was considered at least as strong relative to his peers as Carter was. Carter never finished in the top 5 in receiving yards in a year, and while he did finish #1 in TDs three times, "all he does is catch touchdowns" is a bit of a joke but also indicates areas where his game wasn't really as good as his peers. He does deserve to be in the Hall, but not any more than Martin does (except that Carter's been passed over a few times already).Sugesting that neither should go in over Parcells or Chris Carter...Honestly, I would place either over Curtis Martin... a long time good to very good, not ever considered at the level at his job that Parcells, Carter, Dawson or Roaf was at his.
Two undistinguished, undeserving jet representatives. Namath more so than Martin. At least one can make an argument about Martin's qualifications, weak as they might be, with a straight face.congrats to Curtis Martin - 1st Jet HOF inductee for a long time....possibly since Namath?
That's hilarious. I mean, not just your argument, but that your avatar is the Breakers. That's some great stuff. Maybe next time I'm being dragged somewhere in chains, I'll be able to catch a game. Two undistinguished, undeserving jet representatives. Namath more so than Martin. Moderators are in a bitter mood tonight. Probably the Eagle fan, Wood. Anyway, good that Carter and Bettis aren't further diluting the HOF. Perhaps an unpopular sentiment among some, but seriously, the mediocrity in that building has swelled. No reason to make the institution even more meaningless with compilers.
Any Jet fan ever feel like we had a hall of fame rushing attack with Martin? I know I never did. To be honest, in his prime, Freeman McNeil was a better running back. I get that he's the 4th all time leading rusher. He was good, and I was happy he was on the Jets, but I never thought I was watching an all-time great when he was playing.Absolutely watering it down with compilers. He should have been hurt more or quit before he became the 4th all-time leading rusher, because what's really important in football and other sports is fleeting greatness and injuries.

So sustained good-ness and a lucky roll of the dice where injuries are concerned is all it takes now? Other than being a Steeler who was on a SB winning team, of course.I'll pass on both thanks. The Hall should be reserved for great players IMO.Absolutely watering it down with compilers. Seriously? You just compared Curtis Martin to Hank Aaron. That's phenomenal.Staying injury-free as a running back is total luck and has nothing to do with strength, balance, work ethic, and controlled and functional movements. Surely, it is just like rolling the dice to stay injury-free for over ten years, including leading the league in yards and success rate in your tenth year. Ask the guys who dump thousands of dollars a year in the off-season at training facilities, run with weight vests, do one-legged squats, flip tires, stabilize their knees, keep their ankles and hips flexible, eat properly, get good rest, etc. I love this. Hank Aaron, compiler of home runs and lucky in his longevity.
That's a whole 'nother level of dumb than we usually see here. Curtis Martin. Hank Aaron. Same guy.Seriously? You just compared Curtis Martin to Hank Aaron. I think next year they're going to be putting in Myron Cope.So sustained good-ness and a lucky roll of the dice where injuries are concerned is all it takes now? Hank Aaron hit 755 home runs, never hitting over 44. He played for twenty-two years. He never had an on-base percentage of over .403. He won one MVP and three gold gloves. If you can't see how your argument is similar, you're phenomenal.Seriously? You just compared Curtis Martin to Hank Aaron. Like I said, if you can't see how your argument is similar in the breakdown, then go ahead. Compiler. What's your argument? That's a whole 'nother level of dumb than we usually see here.
