Holmgren has done this before - with the Packers in 95 he rotated Anthony Morgan and Mark Clayton as starters each week. So this wouldn't be out of the norm for him.

Nate Burleson had a fine preseason, but it'd be a shock if Hackett isn't the starter in Week 1. Hackett has proven himself to be a complete receiver, while Burleson has mostly been inconsistent in real games as a Seahawk.

Burleson had a great camp and if he can do it on the field then this could very well be a week to week thing. But Hackett did it in the regular season so until Nate proves he can do it I'm still siding with Hackett. I think he'll be the better receiver. Burleson had a lot more looks in preseason than Hackett so he gets more love and attention but I haven't seen anything yet that Hackett has done to lose the job.

But I did pick up Burleson in another league since his improvement could make him useful even as the Seahawks WR4.

If you watched the Seattle preseason this year and Seattle games last year, you would have come away with one important observation.

Nate Burleson is a much better player when healthy. During training camp, I had Hackett as the best value at WR in the entire draft. Right now, I think he is pretty close to undraftable, considering where he goes in relation to where you can get Burleson.

Well, doing my auction with $1.00 left and saw this posted. Just got Nate for a $1.00. Lets hope he wins the job! Doubt I bench Fitz and Burress for him, but it would be nice to see him put up some numbers.

Nate has proven he can play in this league and make big plays. Last year he was injured and it was also his first year in the very hard to learn, Holmgren WCO. This offseason he has been the better WR and WILL outperform every WR on Seattle except for Branch. This coming from a Seattle homer.

So 1 good year followed by two ridiculously bad years (can't blame 05 on new system or thumb) means he's top caliber?

I'm not saying Nate isn't good or hasn't improved vastly. Just that Hackett has been treated as the starter from the minute he stpeed into camp and if this were a true competition then DJ would've had more targets and preseason game time to compare the two. Nate looked great in preseason but was ghastly last year so until he shows he can do it for the Seahawks in game situations, the job rightly belongs to Hackett. His preseason playing time was limited and in that limited time he did nothing to lose the job, while Nate got more work in the system.

I think Jabbar Gaffney is just as sneaky a WR as Burleson is this week, as soon as either Moss or Stallworth are hurt, they will leave Welker in the slot adn start Gaffney, who papers say brady has chemistry with.

According to the Seattle area newspapers, Hackett practiced with first team all week and with only a walk thru practice tomorrow it'll be tough to see how Burleson would be the starter. He is expected to see time of course, in 4WR sets and subbed in for Hackett. But all indications are that Hackett will receive the majority of snaps at split end. But with kick returns, 4WR sets and the occasional sub in, Burleson should be a game factor, probably not an FF factor.
