Home Run Derby Thread (1 Viewer)

You Bour's cousin?
Has nothing to do with the player, has to do with being entertained. Watching the home town crowd get behind the home town guy in the first round was electric and as long as he got on a run in the later rounds, it would have only gotten funner

Guess we have to make do with this crappy Judge guy

I'm still skeptical he can maintain his MLB production long-term but he's one of the strongest guys to ever play, at least that I've seen.
I was curious about this the other day and looked at his milb history and I just don't see how this isn't the greatest half of baseball of his career. Crazy though.

I think he's more Gallo and Schwarber than what he's doing, but that isn't terrible either.  He hit 56 homers in 1500 MiLB PAs, he has 30 this year in 360 PAs.  His big frame seems very susceptible to changing eye level and breaking balls, but so far he's handled it very well.  Also seems like a guy you'd generally root for, except he plays for the Yankees and all.

Sano on the other hand is probably almost as strong, and a guy I believe in long-term.  He's athletic as hell, as is Joey Gallo (who was invited to this HR derby but declined)FWIW.  People who think baseball isn't getting great athletes should watch these two, they would have both made great speed rushers in the NFL.

Yes, I was curious how he handled off-speed. Weird he ever sees a fastball.

He also nailed a chick my buddy is infatuated with last year. I love bringing that up to him.

Sano is 6'4" and 260 and he seriously is athletic.  He's average in advanced fielding metrics at 3B, but when a guy that big makes some of the plays he can make, it looks even more impressive.  And I HATE THE ####### TWINS.  @Frostillicus
