Homeland (2 Viewers)

So we finished season 1 and we loved it.

We are 2/3 through season 2 and are on the episode

where Carrie is kidnapped
So far we like season 2 as much as season one. But I can see where this may be going.....or not. I hope Season 2 ends with a bang.

Speaking of bang....there is a lot of banging in the show LOL.

No, you have no idea where it's going.

We really loved season 1

Season 2 we enjoyed and the end was a shocker.

We are 3 episodes into season 3 and so far......not so good.

Glad you are enjoying it so far.

For me personally it lost me when

Their version of Osama bin Laden (Abu Nazzir I think) ended up on American soil (twice IIRC) and did the whole kidnapping thing with Carrie
For a show that really seemed to be inspired by a desire to maintain a shred of realism that just killed it for me.

When I first started watching I thought it was going to be something akin to The Wire, a slow burn based in reality with every season having mostly the same characters but a different focal point. But I think the overwhelming popularity of the initial episodes really threw the producers for a loop and they really had no idea where to go with it so they turned it into some kind of 24ish manufactured suspense crap fest.

It's a shame really because it had potential to be something special.

Same exact spot for me Chaka. That killed any realism for that major character.
yeah. made me remember that in 24, it was always the outside consultant... temp-workers.. who somehow infiltrated the anti-terrorism office.

it may have been the 30th time that Carrie's bottom lip tremored too.

The show has really fallen off the FFA radar. Tonight was the season premiere. Maybe RN can send a message to his good buddy Chris Brody, and see what he thinks.

48 minute season premiere for a show going downhill, really weak. That being said I'm in for another season, seems like it could be interesting.

We enjoyed it last night. Some potential for a good season.

Season 3 was dreck. 1,2 were awesome, 4 was ok.

Anyway. Glad I am caught up. Now we are in season one of Game of Thrones.....holly crap what a show.

Couldn't really remember what happened from last season. Yesterday didn't really pull me in...I may just be over it.

I'm going to let these pile up on my dvr and see what people say before committing to it.

I'm not sure I can watch it without Chris there to say how awesome the TVs are, or without a terrorist mole in Congress being sent on stupid errands like escorting a suicide vest maker around town.

Watched it tonight, was sort of interesting and info like the entire ISIS angle. Sophie they never run out of material to cover

The issues I have

- I really can't remember what happened last season, I read that Mandy was compromised but cannot remember how

- I remember Quinn going off to Iraq after getting snubbed by Carrie

- I vaguely remember Carrie meeting her mom who in my head is the mother of that mass murder up in Oregon

Homeland always goes off the rails but once in a while they have a great episode. The premiere was. Really enjoyed that.
I agree. Maybe its because my expectations have been lowered, but I really enjoyed that episode. I hope it goes in the right direction.

I'm enjoying the Quinn angle. Maybe they can dedicate the show to him. Each episode has him tracking down a bad guy and offing him/her.

Was scratching my head on the, "I've got to stay here and find out what went wrong" deal. Why in the world she'd be able to get some info out of a madhouse situation is beyond me. Overall, I still rather enjoyed the first two episodes.

For Homeland standards this one of the best three-episode runs in the series. I'm not rolling my eyes every 20 minutes. What the show should have always been.

It's OK so far. We are intrigued. We like Quinn a lot and find him the most interesting and hope his story expands more and more.

Nothing like Season 1 and 2 ever again though. Those 2 seasons we were glued and binged them every single night till we were done.

Great episode, love crazy Carrie, the Saul twist at the end was a bit obvious but I'm ok with it. Thought for sure that Quinn was going to tap the German intelligence lady

Help me out here. Stopped watching a couple seasons ago. The last thing I remember is Carrie getting kidnapped and Saul meeting up with some lawyer or terrorist at a country club or something. Should I pick back up watching or is it still a train wreck?

Last season was compatible and actually quite good at times.

This season is shaping up to stink, maybe the CIA HQ will get blown up again.

Do you remember the episode I'm talking about? Had free hbo a couple years ago that ran out then. The change after Season 2 was like nothing I've ever witnessed before. That weird dude had taken over the CIA too and started screwing Saul.

Seems like that was the season before last when I almost stopped watching.
