Hot tubs / spas (1 Viewer)

I've been having tremendous pain management issues with my back, both knees, feet, hands. Beens seeing all kinds of docs and trying a myriad of treatments. SOmetimes I'll get some marginal, temporary relief, but its starting to look like it just going to be a part of my life. So I've decided to get a good hot tub. I know it won't cure anything, but if it can just give me some relief and cut down on the pain meds, that would be a really good result.

I've had a number of pools in my life, but never a hot tub. There are SO many brands and features and stuff, its a pretty intimidating task for someone like me, who wants a superior product with minimal maintenance, but also a cheapskate, always looking for a great deal.

I talked to my pool guy who does a lot of spa installations and he told me the best brands were Jacuzzi, Hot Springs, Dimension One, Dr. Wellness, Master Spa and newer (under six years old) of Sundance. He told me to avoid Morgan and Sun Belt. He also told me to send him links to ones I'm interested in and he'll let me know what he thinks. He also does spa re-locating, so if I find one on CL he can move it from their house to mine He'll also check it out and make sure I'm not buying a piece of crap.

So looking around on Craigslist, I found a D1 Amore Bay, one year old, perfect shape For $7500. It cost 14,500 new and has all kinds of water purification with UV and ozonator. A bit pricey for used, but if it checks out, it looks like one of the best units you can get and seems like a good deal. I figure I can negoitate it down to aleast 6k, since its been listed for two weeks already.

I also found a saltwater model by Bullfrog the 562ss. Its a 2011 lodel in great shape and she's asking 4200, but its been listed a month, so its also negotiable, I imagine. Seems to be a good brand, she says she paid $9000 for it

But part of me thinks a lesser model brand new might be a safer bet. Costco has Divine Hot Tubs Ultra Massage at a 1000 discount for 7000 delivered (+560 tax). IT has a lot of great features the other two don't, like built in sound system and bluetooth, and iphone/google phone remote control, so I can get it heating up before I leave the office. I'm pretty sure its of lesser build quality than the others, but the Costco warranty smashes nothing from the other two,

Anyway, if any of you guys are familiar, I thought see if y'all has any thoughts, inputs or advise. TIA

I am on my 2nd Vita Spa Hot Tub.......mine is the Vita Prestige. bought it new, with speaker system, for 5999-.......I wouldn't do a used spa, nor one from a big box. Vita has a great cabinet and steel frame. Solid warranty.
