Housh to Vikings? (1 Viewer)

This was covered in a few other threads yesterday. Easy to miss as the thread titles didn't cover it.

Long story, the source was Javon Walker's people, that claimed he was cut to make room for Housh. The story was investigated by Vikes beat writers, and is untrue. Latest from the Minny beat guy was that Housh is gonna talk to a few teams, and make a decision.

As of now, no truth to this one.

I looked and didn't see anything posted. I worked out in the yard all day yesterday so I'm about a day behind

Do they have money for Housh? I realize he's not going to get a contract anywhere near like the one he had in Seattle but he's certainly not going to play for peanuts either.

Seattle will pay $7 million of Housh's contract for this year. If a team signs him for $7.5 million, that team would only have to pay $500,000 of the contract.

From what I've read Housh can sign for the veteran minimum b/c language in his contract with SEA requires them to pay the rest of his $7Mil salary anyway. So he's gonna make 7$ mil regardless this year and I don't see why a team would give him more than the minimum which I read would be about 850K for a vet with his tenure in the league.

If that's the case, then he would go to the team where he has the best chance to start, the best QB, and the best chance to win. MN looks good on all those counts. But I wonder if he wouldn't want to sign a new long term contract? SEA will pay up to 7 million THIS year, but I assume not next year or year after.
