Houshmandzadeh's value once C. Henry is back. (1 Viewer)

What do you guys think? With Henry active in week 10, I'd imagine it will take a game or two before he really gets involved. Is this going to help, hurt or be a non factor for Housh for the fantasy playoff run?

Thoughts?

I really don't think it will affect Housh at all. Henry gets a lot of redzone TDs, but a lot of Housh's TDs are from middle distances, 20-30 yards. It's possible that his numbers may go down a bit but he'll still be a good WR1 and must start WR2. Henry may also open up CJ since no one seems to be overly concerned with their current WR3 (#16 I think). Either way, I am not worried about Henry taking too much away. He'll snag a TD or 2 down the line from Housh but TJ should still remain the best ff producer on the team.

Nope, Alot of TJ's TDs have been within 10 yards... this is Henry's sweet spot as well.. Td's will go down just a tad for TJ. Not much though...

Great point about Housh's 20-30 yard TD's...You also made another good point about CJ benefiting from Henry being on the field.

:goodposting: Thats what I was thinking too. Think he will be fine with catches and yards, but some of those short tds that he eats up, may go away.

Another point I might add... They use Henry on the Bears play... IE the one that they try to do a WR screen with a wuick pass. Housh isnt know to break tackles like Henry and they like dumping it off to him alot. I'm not saying Henry is going to be a stud, but he will be top 30 from the time he steps on the field the rest of the way. He should be getting 2-6 receptions (20-60) and .5 Tds a game. A very good WR#3.

I thought he was hitting on a lot of 15-30 yarders...sorry. Still shouldn't bump him down too much, he'll still get open and CJ's the main threat.

henry's return might affect housh's td production. palmer seems to go to henry in the redzone more often than anywhere else on the field.

Interesting discussion.

For those that follow the Bengals more closely than I do, does adding Henry to the mix open up the offense more to the point where it might negate the effect of having to divide the stats between 3 good receivers? Also, will the Bengals be throwing more because the RBs are banged up?

As a previous CJ Owner, traded him 2 days ago, I see Henry coming back obviously taking a litle bit from each of them. Housh is the WR to have in Cincy, that doesn't change. I personally was sick of seeing Chad being avg and Housh lighting it up every week. Henry could open up things more for housh or chad but i see henry reaping the rewards in the slot. I would speculate Housh continues at his current pace and Henry would reap the benefits of Chad being double covered. Palmer isnt forcing the ball to Chad as much this season, alot of INTs this year. I own none of these guys and just hope I made the right call dumping chad...

Realistically, how could it not lower the numbers of TJ and ocho cinco. There are only "x" number of plays in a game and in turn as the ball gets spread around more; it impacts all of the offensive studs. Just because someone joins a team doesn't mean that the game gets longer and the number of plays (on average) go up. Granted, if they are able to move the ball more successfully.....it will increase the offensive plays; but as long as Henry is on the field I would expect the numbers to fall (especially in a PPR league format).

Regardless; TJ is a stud and will still remain a WR1 or solid WR2 in most leagues.

TJ is overperforming as it is.
that's kind of what i was thinking. regardless of henry returning or not, i would expect tj's #'s to drop because i can't see how he can keep this pace up. his yardage isn't ridiculous but his catches and td's are coming at a ridiculous pace that i would expect to slow somewhat just on the law of averages. i don't watch many bengals games but i was under the impression that henry caught a lot of deep balls because the defenses would concentrate on the other two recievers. i didn't know henry was a big redzone target.i don't feel too strongly either way that henry's return will significantly change anything for tj or cj. i agree that it is a good thing for palmer though.

In 7 games last year, Henry only had 21 receptions. 6 were TDs with 5 coming from inside 11 yards. This year, Holt and Chatman at the WR3 spot have 19 receptions, but only 1 TD. Those are the TDs Housh is getting........of his 9 TDs, 5 of them are them are inside of 10 yards. So, with Henry's return, TJ's numbers in yards and receptions should stay close to where they are now, but the TDs could take a definite hit.

Excellent point. I hadn't ever tracked Henry and Housh's catchs to see where they were coming from, but this is helpful. I put Morris on IR and picked up Henry yesterday so I'm liking the fact that he'll be the forgotten WR by the defense.

We are missing one big point. Bump up Carson Palmer right now.
 I think an overall bump in TD production for the Bengals passing game will be the result. TJ serves double duty as a WR and the TE in this offense, so I don't really see a decrease in his production. Henry's return just means more passing TDs.
