How appealing is the Colts/Pats game to non-homers? (1 Viewer)

I am a Colts homer, but I know weekly there are great matchups that I will not miss. I am just trying to see what is the attitude of other FBGs when it comes to the game of the week?

Would you rather watch your favorite team or the best game?

Just curious...

i usually watch the best game if i'm by myself. if it's more of a social thing, i'll watch what most people want to watch, which is generally the local team.

so yes, i'm looking forward to the colts-pats game.

big time dallas fan here but i cant wait to watch the Colts Pats on sunday night

gonna be an absurd game

I enjoy watching a good football game

if my team happens to be a part of it then all the better

I have to tell you, it is a great time to be a Colts fan. I just wish we could have playoff success one freaking year, just one!

Our Defensive Coordinator needs to go. No way to avoid it after this season.

It's always great fun to watch the best team in football smack down the alway's over-hyped undefeated Colts ... ;) ... if it wasn't for ultra soft scheduleing year after year the Colts wouldn't even register on most NFL teams weekly radar. :jawdrop:

Funny how the Northeast kinda see's things in a clear light huh?

Of course every football fan is interested in watching this game .. you don't need to have a stake in it, it's the promise of GREAT football we all want to see ... hopefully the ref's stay outta the mix and let these 2 decide it among themselves ... I for one can't wait for this one to kick off!

Always watch Eagles and only Eagles (unless I'm there) and use commercials to flip or check nfl.com. I'm an Eagles fan first, and a fantasy football fan second. With that said, even though the birds are on bye, I can;t wait for the Pats Colts game!

Pats homer in PA...just glad the game will be on!

I know a lot of people at my work (mainly Eagle/Steeler homers) are talking about this game, so I do think there is interest from non-Colts/Pats fans.

Football fans in general love a great game, no matter who is playing.

worth watching just to see the next chapter in the belicheck-manning saga, even if both teams were 0-7. The fact this game may determine homefield if (when) these teams meet again just capitalizes the must in "must see football"

I try to watch the team I grew up watching ... but the chances of seeing the Arizona Cardinals in Toronto are slim and none. I suppose I should be thankful for that.

I'll be watching the Colts/Pats game just to see if Bell Belichick dresses like he's waiting in line for a bowl of soup again.

Im a Giants fan and I am looking forward to it but ESPN, Sirius NFL Radio and every other sportscast is RUINING this game with 24/7 Peyton vs Brady coverage.

Dont get me wrong, this will be a GREAT game, but I am just so damn sick of hearing about it. There are 30 other teams, I would like ESPN to talk about any of them this week.

This is about as good as it gets. Brady vs. Manning, Bill scheming vs. the potent Colts O, Vinateri vs. old team. Big game. Looking forward to it.

I love any game that features good coaching and good quarterbacking, and you get a ton of both in this matchup.

If it were on at the same time as the Steeler game, I'd most likely be flipping back and forth. I'm a Steeler fan first and wouldn't skip watching the Steelers to watch another game. But I probably would watch longer stretches of whichever game is more interesting, especially in the second half.

I would just set up a 2nd TV

I'm a Redskins fan in NYC so generally have to go to a bar to see the 'skins game. If they were at the same time I would be watching the Redskins game first, but also watching Colts/Pats. I'm glad they are not at the same time - as I am definitely looking forward to Colts/Pats. Aside from just being a really big game, I've got Brady/Harrison/Wayne on my fantasy team to watch.

I am definitely looking forward to this game - games that set the stage for the playoffs are always must-see tv for me. This one will go a long way toward determining home field advantage in the AFC, so it lets me get a better idea of whom the Bears will beat in the Super Bowl. ;)

If I had to choose between this game and the Bear game, though, I would choose to watch the Bear game. You can't replace the passion the comes from watching your favorite team play.

And I thought the Colts were playing the Patriots this week? But if you say their playing the best team, then I guess I was mistaken. ;)

With the NFL's schedule both formulaic and made up years in advance, I'm not sure how any one team consistently benefits from it.To answer the original question, I'm looking forward to this game a lot and only hope it's as good as the Indy-Denver game last week. And I'm a homer of neither team.

When all is said and done these 2 QBs will be 2 of the best to ever play the game. We're not only fortunate enough to have them in the league at the same time, but even play each other at least once a year. How can you not look forward to watching this game???

For me, the game I want to see most every week is the one involving my favorite team. This game is a close second this week though.

One of the worst fishing trips I've seen.(There's no way you can be serious here.)

Can you imagine if the Colts turned a bit more of their focus to defense?

Just curious...

:P

My dad usually only watches the Bucs game each week, almost never watches any other game -- today he asked me what time the Pats/Colts game was tomorrow, are we getting it shown here, and how many chicken wings and what kind of beer do I want for during the game.

I thought to myself "damn, that's a big regular-season game right there".

I ALWAYS watch my favorite team - but the Colts/Pats game is BY FAR the most intriguing game every year.If my team is getting blown out or blowing someone out, I'll switch to the best game and check back every so often with my team - I am a phin fan. I expect I will be flipping around between the best games rather than watching Mia-Chi exclusively.

Anyone who doesn't look forward to watching this game is not a real football fan, plain and simple. This is like watching Dallas/SF in the early 90's.

I've posted a few times about this matchup in the past four years. It is without a doubt, the top draw of the year for me personally. I am from Indy, but I'm a Giants fan....yada yada.

Last year, I turned the corner on Tom Brady. I never gave him the credit he deserved. I am a Manning defender. I was wrong about Brady. I say he gets ring number four this year. Tonight will be the beginning of a bigtime roll for the Pats. Both quarterbacks will end up top five all time IMO.

The title of this thread is a joke. Sorry, I'm not trying to be an ###. But, if this is not a must see game for anyone that watches football, then I would need to be told what would qualify as a "must see game.".

I agree with this post. BTW, is this the ***OFFICIAL GAME THREAD*** ??

I know these terms are used synonymously but it was actually grass that was installed and just between the hashmarks over the length of the field. It's scary to think what Maroney will do next year when they install FieldTurf.

Just heard a guy on Fox Sports Radio say "and now let's turn our attention to what is probably the most intriguing game of the week... Dallas and Washington.

Huh?

Being a Michigan fan, I love watching Brady and the Pats take the pentultimate Whiner, Mr. Peyton "false sense-of-entitlement" Manning, behind the woodshed. He's the best regular season QB that I've ever seen, but his lack of heart and 'me-first' attitude is just sickening. I love watching Manning lose, and I love watching Brady win. I have to root for certain players in the league since I'm a Lions fan!
