How 'bout them Reds! (4 Viewers)

I don't believe Nyjer Morgan ever got suspended for smacking a fan at GABP with his glove in the face, so I doubt Adams gets suspended here.

It was a dooshy and dumb thing to do. Had it been the other way around, the fan would've been ejected. That's the issue I have. It should be LESS acceptable for Adams to do this than a fan. The safety of the fans should be first and foremost at the stadium. And as a result, there should be some type of reprimand from the league (what that is I have no idea).

I get not liking the Cardinals and I even agree Adams was out of line with his actions, but the people that watch the video and think Adams is the one that comes off as a doosh fascinate me.

Two wrongs don't make a right but they do make a story on a slow news day

I'd bet you be in the minority. I think I'll poll it up.

Billy on the bench after 3 games. Total speculation here, but when all is said and done I'm guessing the playing time will end up being:

CF:

Billy 60%

Bernadina 30%

Heisey 10%

LF:

Ludwick 80%

Heisey 20%

Haven't voted yet so I don't know the results, but I have noticed several in the thread confusing fault with dooshiness. No question Adams is at fault.

I'm confident Billy will play more than Ludwick. Bernadina and Heisey have both looked good in spring and the first week though so at least we've got options for rotating guys.

I'm leaning like

CF

Hamilton 80

Bernadina 18

Heisey 2

LF

Ludwick 60

Heisey 35

Bernadina 5

Plus several games at DH for Ludwick and RB can have a few in right if Bruce ever sits.

Cardinals fans are too classy to give the middle finger back like that. :D

Again, Adams should not have initiated contact, but LOL at being outraged over what was essentially a love tap.
LOL at both "outraged" and "love tap".

FYI, Pablo Torre referred to it as a love tap yesterday on Around The Horn.
I guess it's settled then.

In case you missed it, they said Billy jammed his finger on that slide into second when he got thrown out the other day. He was a late inning sub, but I am guessing he can't hold a bat real well.

I really am hoping they can get out of April at .500 at this point. Every win counts equally, as does every loss, but gaining or losing confidence early in the year is, I believe, a huge part of a season's success.

They need to get out of NY with a win today because they have a really tough schedule coming up soon. This is the "weakest" team they play on paper for two weeks.

Rays are going to be tough with the way good pitching destroys the Reds hitters.

Billy didn't start game 4, in which he jammed the finger during a pinch run steal attempt.

True, but neither did Cozart, and I didn't see you pointing that out. It seemed more like a veiled attempt to imply Price would bench his starter long term after just 3 games. I hope that you are wrong in your percentages, but if Heisey can swing the bat like this all year, he might end up playing a lot more than Hamilton or Ludwick. He did well in the start today, I thought.

I think this was more along the lines of Price giving them both a chance to relax and not try to press too hard.

I'm just not sold that he's the everyday centerfielder.
I don't think anyone is, except maybe Billy Hamilton.
I am sold it's happening fwiw, but I've beaten it to death and I respect you guys opinions so we'll see.
I think they are going to give him every chance to succeed, but I am not sure if he is going to answer the call. I hope he does, but we will see how this year plays out.

I hope Hamilton's success continues after that great game on Wednesday afternoon. This team is really fun to watch when Hamilton gets on base.

Votto batting 2nd today. Maybe to try and help Hamilton get on base? Maybe Price was hammered drunk when he filled out a lineup card?

Votto could bat 2nd, 5th, and 8th and this team still wouldn't score enough runs.
Never seen a team worse once they get a runner. Worst base running team in league + double plays whenever possible + 0 for the season with man on 3rd less than 2 outs = pretty good plan to waste what little offensive production we do have. Not much to do though because the worst culprits are our only good hitters.

Crazy game last night with all them HR's, 10 HR's on the game, GABP record and it is only in the 7th inning, continuing today at 5:30 to finish the game out.

Im not liking what im seeing from Homer so far on the year after signing that big contract. Hopefully he can turn it around soon.

I hate Hoover and Ondrusek. I cringe every time they come into a ball game. Bullpen used to be a huge strength of ours the past 3-4 years, it is looking a bit shaky this year.

Getting Marshall back is a big boost, and obviously Chapman will be huge.

And if Simon goes back to the pen when (if? :( ) Latos gets healthy...

I love Big Pasta. What happens when Latos comes back? You can't move simon when he's been so dominant. Maybe trade someone or move leake to the bull pen.

The odds of Latos coming back healthy + pasta staying this dominant + other pitchers staying healthy seem pretty low but if it happens I still think pasta to pen.

Leaks has been pretty solid too. Don't understand this Leake sucks talk. He's been very efficient, has given up homers, but, he's throwing strikes. Simon will go back to the bullpen and definitely needs too. He's a huge reason why the bullpen was so good last year. They definitely miss him there right now.

This team is horrible. 1 for 14 with runners in scoring position today. Seems like that is every day. Just horrible.

The only reason to watch is the once every 5 games that Cueto pitches.

Looking forward to football season.

Hoover in for the 12th. No way this goes 13.

Edit: Forgot Superman plays second base for the Reds or this one was over. To the 13th we go!

Without looking at the results. The majority of their games this year seems like, they either win by 1 or 2 runs or get blown out by 4+ runs. No nail biting comebacks for them that made them so fun to watch the past 3-4 years.
