How do you deal with the feeling of wanting to do nothing and lay in bed? (1 Viewer)

 I've got lots of things to do but the motivation is not there.
First you have to have identify the cause of your lagging motivation.  It may be something that you can work through with counseling and/or mindful meditation. Or you may be a candidate for medication.

Talk to somebody about it, in person if possible. For me, knowing I get to see my wife and kids once my work is done is pretty effective. They're still asleep when I leave the house in the morning.

In the long run, motivation will always fail you. What you need is discipline.
Yep.  Just master this one first, and then you can worry about other motivations later: do something every day.  It doesn't matter what 'something' is as long as it is difficult to you.

I'm guessing your diet sucks, and you exercise little.

This is like that Brutus Mars song where he talks about chillin in his Snuggie and being taught how to Dougie....take that to the bank brochacho.

Exercise is key for me. I have found if I am not staying busy mentally and physically, I turn into a mess.
Yup. My whole life I have played basketball, tennis, ultimate, etc. Loved it and of course was getting exercise. I have had some injuries that makes those harder to play now, more really it's that they are just a little less fun when something is always causing me to drag around.

Have had to shift over to machine exercise and more lower impact stuff which initially sucked and I resisted, but now that I have gotten into a routine I look forward to that time and especially like the feeling afterwards.

Find a good, nice gym that you like to go to and eventually you will find a routine that works for you and you will feel better IMO.

It could be depression. It could be diet, exercise, hydration. all of those things. Try taking care of yourself and starting with one small task at a time. How do you eat an elephant? - one bite at a time.

If you develop a meth habit you're gonna get out of bed.  In fact you'll probably make it three times before you sleep in it again!

In my youth, I dabbled with uppers.  Never made me want to make my bed. Or get me amped up at all.

Later in life I realized that's because I have ADHD, and it just made me feel how everyone else always feels.

It's very confusing to be at a party with everyone losing their #### on speed and realize you just want to go home, watch McGyver, and order a pizza.

Currently laying in bed with the dog curled up next to me, like most afternoons. All my work is done, I can surf FBG, Twitter & Imgur, watch Larry Sanders & Curb, and maybe take a nap. It's awesome.

I can track my wife on my iphone, so when she's almost home I'll get up and wash dishes or something.
