Is it just enough to not want to interact with other races? Where whites have their own clubs, or whatever?
Well this article got me asking the questionIs there some current definition being applied that you consider to be unfair or inaccurate?
Pretty simple. Is it just enough to not want to interact with other races? Where whites have their own clubs, or whatever?
white su·prem·a·cy
noun
the belief that white people are superior to those of all other races, especially the black race, and should therefore dominate society.
Actually it does talk about it down the article a bit.Well this article got me asking the question
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/06/27/white-supremacist-recruiting-rise-college-campuses-report/1590886001/
it really doesn't say what these white supremacist entities say or want.....So I was curious.
I must have missed where the article said what it is.Actually it does talk about it down the article a bit.
I would say that when it comes to this subject the ADL is a pretty reliable source.
Why does there have to be violent intent?I must have missed where the article said what it is.
I was kinda more interested in what people think, not so much what Webster thinks.
If you are not a fan of other races...you are a racist..but if you are also white and feel this way, are you a white supremacist?
To me, there has to be some sort of violent intent or emotion related to that dislike of other races to count.
I think the Webster definition is pretty good. White supremacy isn't the same as white racism. A racist just dislikes black people. A white supremacist thinks that blacks are inferior and should be ruled over by whites. All white supremacists are racists, but not all racists are white supremacists.I must have missed where the article said what it is.
I was kinda more interested in what people think, not so much what Webster thinks.
My question would be, why isn't that person a fan of other races? The reason might be white supremacy. If you are not a fan of other races...you are a racist..but if you are also white and feel this way, are you a white supremacist?
That’s surprisingTo be honest I am 35 and never heard that term used until the last couple of years.
I don't understand why the Indy 500 thinks it's supreme. Can other races be supremacists?
Thats possible. So if the guy says "I just don't like Asians" Does that automatically make him or her a white supremacist?Juxtatarot said:My question would be, why isn't that person a fan of other races? The reason might be white supremacy.
Because that's my opinion of it. But I am open to other opinions.timschochet said:Why does there have to be violent intent?
And why does this question concern you so much?
I don't believe people "just" don't like people of a certain race. There is a reason for it.Thats possible. So if the guy says "I just don't like Asians" Does that automatically make him or her a white supremacist?
Thats not really the question.I don't believe people "just" don't like people of a certain race. There is a reason for it.
It's exactly the question. The "Why" is what determines whether the person is a white supremacist or not.Thats not really the question.
But Ok.
I disagree. I think what you want to do with that feeling is a more important factor. It's exactly the question. The "Why" is what determines whether the person is a white supremacist or not.
Is that your definition?the belief that white people are superior to those of all other races, especially the black race, and should therefore dominate society.

Where are you getting this?supermike80 said:Is it just enough to not want to interact with other races? Where whites have their own clubs, or whatever?
Your idea of what white supremacism is in your OP.Getting what?
So....what are you saying here. I have to agree with what's posted cause I asked? This makes no sensesupermike: Hey guys, how do you define white supremacy?
A bunch of FBGs chime in with identical answers all in agreement.
supermike: I disagree
I'm sorry I still do not understand your questionYour idea of what white supremacism is in your OP.
You obviously have a point to make. Why not just say it out loud?So....what are you saying here. I have to agree with what's posted cause I asked? This makes no sense
welcome to supermikesupermike: Hey guys, how do you define white supremacy?

I’m not surprised but obviously somewhere you got the idea that joining a club or only having white friends was being called white supremacist somewhere.I'm sorry I still do not understand your question
It sounds like his point is other races do it too. He keeps coming to that for some reason even though his question is about “white” supremacy. You obviously have a point to make. Why not just say it out loud?
Yeah, but of course other races do it too. Study the history of Japan and their relationship with Korea and China and come back and tell us all about racism and racial supremacy only exists among white Europeans. That's not a controversial or edgy argument at all. And obviously it's also not a defense of white supremacy. It sounds like his point is other races do it too. Didnt I like multiple times? You obviously have a point to make. Why not just say it out loud?
No I didn't. Swear. I was just interested in that use today article. It didnt really define what that is. So I brought it up here. Seemed like a good discussion topic.I’m not surprised but obviously somewhere you got the idea that joining a club or only having white friends was being called white supremacist somewhere.
No.It sounds like his point is other races do it too. He keeps coming to that for some reason even though his question is about “white” supremacy.
Oh easily. Theres always the thing where babies interact regardless of race. Racism is completely learned behaviorWhy would someone not want to interact with other races? Clearly a some kind learned behavior.
Oh the Japanese were horrible to the chinese. It's hard to read about what they did to them.Yeah, but of course other races do it too. Study the history of Japan and their relationship with Korea and China and come back and tell us all about racism and racial supremacy only exists among white Europeans. That's not a controversial or edgy argument at all. And obviously it's also not a defense of white supremacy.
(I know you know this -- just chiming in in agreement).
It’s an ideology. Do you know what ideology is? I’m not being sarcastic, I’m just checking how sophisticated you are.No I didn't. Swear. I was just interested in that use today article. It didnt really define what that is. So I brought it up here. Seemed like a good discussion topic.
To me, a supremacist means violence. I make that correlation in my head. But is racism inherently supremacism?
It usually starts with spouting racist propaganda.Oh the Japanese were horrible to the chinese. It's hard to read about what they did to them.
I an not suggesting it's a white only issue. But when does racism become supremacy?
No I dontIt’s an ideology. Do you know what ideology is? I’m not being sarcastic, I’m just checking how sophisticated you are.
So is externalizing your dislike of other races when that switch flips. Hmmm....I can see that.It usually starts with spouting racist propaganda.
I have never heard anyone else define it that way.To me, a supremacist means violence.
Ok thanks. Ideology is a political construct that is based on a defining set of principles. So for instance a conservative is defined by lowering taxes and a liberal is defined by expanding civil rights. Those are two ideologies. You understand that, right? No I dont
