In a .5 PPR league, 10 point bonus for a 300-yard QB game.

We're finding that our scoring is skewed way too far towards QBs and WRs. The scoring system as it stands right now was devised so as to equal out things when RB's were blowing up several years ago but now it's swung the other way.

I've always liked the scoring but it's starting to seem unbalanced. It's gotten to the point where the 1-2-3 teams in the league are (predictably) the Brady, Brees and Rodgers owners.

Just wondering if anybody else is in the same boat. I'm thinking of dumping the PPR format altogether and starting from scratch.

PPR shouldn't have any effect on the Brady, Brees, and Rogers owners being 1-2-3. That appears to be your silly 10-pt bonus rule.

 If the complaint is the that the elite QB teams are dominating how is elimnating PPR going to help anything? My main leagues have QB friendly scoring as well as PPR and we have no problems with it. We give a bonus at 400 yards passing and 200 for rushing/receiving.The 300 yard bonus is not a good idea IMO, especially in this era of big passing yard totals becoming the norm.

I don't play in any PPR leagues myself. With the leagues I play in, there are 3 WR's in the top 30, 7 RB's in the top 30 and 20 QB's. So I guess you can say my league is QB driven, QB's get 6pts per TD so in a league like this maybe 4pts per TD for the QB would help some to level the playing field, otherwise its not too bad.I actually prefer non PPR leagues myself.

PPR doesn't have anything to do with the QB dominance, I'm just trying to think of more ways to level the field. The bonus is definitely going away. I like the .2 PPR rule somebody else mentioned though.

That's pretty crazy (assuming standard scoring otherwise, with 4 or 6 pt. TDs).Performance bonuses should be a slight bump, not a jackpot payout. We do:200 yards = 1 point300 yards = 2 points400 yards = 3 pointsSurely that 10 point bonus has affected results in recent years too, and not just the current season.

The NFL is so pass heavy now that I cannot believe anyone, let alone basically everyone, is playing full point PPR. The most average WRs easily have double digit games. I am not advocating non-PPR either but IMO the .5 crowd has a solid balance. I know the example is extreme, but do you realize that in full point PPR, a guy could catch 10 passes, 3 yards each and he will have a 13 point day...while a RB could straight rush for 130yds and those two score the same? weak if you ask me. Oh well doesn't matter since the leagues I am in are good for me. Hopefully yours are for you.

2 of my 3 leagues are PPR and very QB driven on the top scorers, but personally I went RB heavy and have mediocre QB's that I drafted in the middle, they are both start 2 QB leagues, in one I am starting Schaub and Flacco, the other has been Kolb and Freeman, I am 4-1 and in first place in both. Doesn't hurt that I drafted the top 2 running backs in 2 of the leagues in Forte and Jackson, to go with my #1 RB's of McCoy and MJD in each of them, with Bradshaw on the bench. Been able to upgrade my receivers by trading Jackson last week in both.

How do you go about changing the rules to match the NFL? If I own QB 1-3, I'm not voting for that. I have non of those QB's in my leagues, but i would like to see rules that keep all player levels closer the even, it makes the drafting more strategic. Stud RB's are getting to be a thing of the past now with RBBC so frequent. It's hard to build your team around a bell cow.

I don't see how this is an issue. I guarantee that Cam Newton (someone I despised and thought would be a joke)could have been grabbed MANY rounds later and is putting up equal if not more points.

I don't see what the issue is in your league? I am sure you went PPR when Priest Holmes, Faulk, etc pretty much guaranteed a money spot. The owners didn't like that so they changed the scoring so people outside the top spots have a chance. Trust me, I know the issue. My main league has had at least 1 person from the 1, 2, 3 spot in the money for 19 of 20 years. In 15 of those years, 2 of the top 3 spots have come in the money.

We do not change our scoring. Teams need to change their drafting style. 8 QBs went in the first 10 picks. I said all along that the #7 spot will be the team to beat. He is 5-0 right now and drafter the best available player: Calvin Johnson. He still was able to draft a top QB and has a solid team.

Look hard at the league and the people in it. If some teams are superior, look back at the draft to find out why. Most likely it is because people drafted stupidly.
