How many of you are hell bent on keeping Chas Rogers in a dynasty leag (1 Viewer)

How many of you still have either of these guys on your roster in a dynasty league? Obviously owners now realize Calico is junk, but my guess is that if you had Rogers on your team 2 years ago and didn't trade him, he's still on your roster. I have him in 1 league. Hell, I'm debating dropping him for the likes of some obscure RB project.

How many of you are ready to send Charles Rogers to the WW in dynasty leagues? Or will you hang on for deal life, lol?

Not at all. I'm just willing to say that I bet most FF guys here still have him on their roster. I'm also willing to bet they are on the verge of dropping him, even in dynasty leagues.

I don't have to have final cuts in for another week or so, and I'm waiting on Rogers to see what develops, if anything, in the way of him being cut/traded (hah)/etc. I have to cut 8-10 players though, and I'm sure the last couple will definately include Rogers in the consideration.

I'm in a 20 team, 10 keeper dynasty with some bizarre scoring and the Rogers owner has contacted LITERALLY every other owner in the league trying to drum up a trade for him. Of course, there are no takers.

Pretty much right. I'm hoping for a rebirth of the C.Rogers that I took #1 overall that years rookie draft.Only happens after he gets cut and the picked up. Hopefully that will happen. Ohh the pain. I'm remembering such better days.

Yup, year 3 for me. Why can't he be traded for Christmas sake. Obviously my keeping him as roster cutdown's approach, is waining. Somehow his stay in Detroit will never work out and another city could only either provide hope or cut ties. Given some of my other options to cut, he is in danger on Labor Day.

Don't fret, we've all made those types of draft picks. At least those of us who've played for any length of time have. Of course you will have those that say every pick they've ever made was a stud, lol. Maybe they have in their 3 or 4 years into fantasy fooball ;)

Finally dumped him in my 10-man keeper, 20-player in-season roster league. Had to, just like I finally had to do with David Terrell. I have Braylon Edwards as well, so hopefully he doesn't follow the MSU & Michigan fellas paths. :wall:

Look at my sig, if you have any of those guys on your roster then you're wise to trade them now before they blow an ACL or bust. :hot:

And, yes, I'll point to the shirt.....

Chuck,

I still have him in the Grass In Your Mask League (3 years now). I will die with him on my roster if he stays clean. I'm waiting for him to get the one year Ricky Williams suspension the next time he smokes a bowl before I pull the plug.

I guess a #2 overall (I think?) is worth that.

I traded for him recently. I'm not expecting much at this point, but even if he gets cut he'll catch on somewhere else. I've got the space, it's an IDP league.

aren't they still talking about cutting him? :loco:
I guess they are, but if that happens, won't that open another can of "Chas Rogers Worms"? Meaning, his value will take a spike. Can you believe it? Hell, I'm still not convinced if that happened he wouldn't succeed somewhere. I guess I'm right in bed with all the other stupid people.

Same with me in a 14 team, 20 roster spot league.More of a philosophy than stubbornness (well, maybe a little subbornness) as I'd rather use the last couple of spots on my bench for players with talent than on a RB60+ or WR60+ that doesn't have much upside. That would have left me with Rogers instead of a Mike Bell, but I honestly didn't think much of Mike Bell coming out of college. Probably explains why I'm not a threat to win my league.

What did you give up for him?
It's dynasty obviously. It was a conditional pick in next year's rookie draft. A 2nd round if he scores more than 4 TDs this season, or a 3rd round if he scores 4 or less. This was just before/during the reports of him doing well in camp. Before he reverted to his lazy self. I'm hoping that he just wants out of Detroit and will actually put forth some extra effort with another team, but even if he doesn't it was a risk/reward gamble by me anyway so if it doesn't pan out oh well.

I really need to find the thread where some of us dropped him after week 1 last year and most of the Shark Pool berated us for "overreacting".

Based on DET's history it seems likely Rogers gets picked up by a division rival(Every team in that division needs WR help) to pay back DET twice a year. Some guys need a change of scenery in the worst way and he is one of them. Not saying I like Rogers....... just saying that if he ends up competing against the Bradley/Furgeson/Marcus Robinsons of the world for major playing time it's not that tall a mountain to climb to have some production this upcoming season.

I just picked him up off waivers in my 12-team 20 man roster league. Probably only keeping for a week to see what happens 2nite and cutdown day.

Not sure how accurate it is, but I read somewhere he's now 3rd on the depth chart.

Doesn't sound like by the postgame fireworks that Rogers will be a Lion for much longer.

http://www.mlive.com/lions/stories/index.s....xml&coll=1

I'm actually kind of excited.
I say he's good for one more shot somehwere else. That's a good thing for Chas, but his time is running out.
I think this is the best news any Roger's owner could have hoped for, so long as the Lions do actually place him on waivers. His time in Detroit was done, the staff was not going to give him a shot, so time for both sides to move on. Now, what are some of the more favorable situations that Rogers could find himself in. I don't think a strict coaching regime is what is needed, maybe someone a bit younger and that has played on the offensive side of the ball can get through to this guy. Some teams that could use another WR:

Green Bay

Chicago

Minnesota (funny, CRog could come back to haunt the lions if any one of these division rivals pick him up)

New England

Of course, there are going to be naysayers that say Rogers will never get it. I, for one, am going to give him another shot and hope another staff/team can help him out.
